This is SO helpful! I'm a recovering detail addict. I can't wait to apply these tips to some of my pet portraits. I get anxious when asked to paint a pet for someone. I think my days of painting "picture-perfect" portraits are over. I've been using your watercolor canvas creator templates and LOVE them.

Awesome! Very glad to hear it was helpful. Details are always important, but they're most effective when placed intentionally and not just everywhere. Best of luck with that next pet portrait!! I'd love to see it. 😊🙌

hi Nathan could you tell me how I can make a brush go from full color to fade slowly in a stroke to mimic a traditional brush running out of color/water at the end of a brush stroke please
@karent-o579121 күн бұрын
First go at following one of your tutorials, thank you! Mixed up the brushes to use the 'short fur' from the Wildlife set. I like the process and the brushes but need to practice with both, so not entirely happy with my end result, that's totally on me. My go to is always wildlife so am going to apply what I've learnt and see how I go.

Fantastic!! Glad you decided to give it a go. If you weren’t completely happy with the first attempt, give it another try. Sometimes painting the same subject a couple of times is great practice.

Looking foreword to these next Tuesday! I have a question, I started buying some of your brush sets and didn’t realize you have a set that includes a bunch of them. So I’ve bought the master watercolor and acrylic and really want to get that 40$ full set but feel like I already got a few, is it possible to get a discount code for a repeat customer for something like that? I’ve bought so much from your site. Thanks for all your tutorials.
@NathanBrownArt26 күн бұрын
Hey thanks for the support, and purchasing my products. The Master Watercolor isn't included in the Ultimate set, I've got a video here on KZbin explaining the difference. But that acrylic set you mentioned probably is. Contact me via the website, and I bet we can figure out a solution. 😊👍

I have completed this tutorial - had a lot of fun, learned a lot, including that you can use stamp brushes on a background and then manipulate them - never had occurred to me before! Is there a place to share my version of this fox tutorial? If I share on Insta, can it be tagged to your Insta account? I don't use that app very much, so I don't know if you can tag people like in FB.

What are the minimum requirements for an iPad to be able to work in Procreate with your wildlife workflow guide?
@NathanBrownArt28 күн бұрын
I think any iPad Pro would be fine. I do have an alternate version on hand with smaller file sizes in case anyone needs it, but so far it hasn't been necessary.

Nathan, you are talented and I enjoy your videos. You have a great way to explain things as you go along. Have you ever experienced Rebelle software from escape motions? It’s watercolor engine is very close to traditional watercolour

Hey thanks for commenting! Glad you're enjoying the videos! ☺I have Rebelle 7, but really haven't taken the time to experiment with it. I'm very partial to the iPad, but I heard there might be a Rebelle version for iPad soon, so that may be my jumping on point.

Hi Nathan! Just caught the replay. (School is back in session and I sadly missed it live.) Flowers are a challenge for me, but I enjoyed following along. I’ll have to practice a bit more. Personally, I prefer drawing and painting faces. I would love to be able to develop the sketch of my dog, Maggie, some more. She’s the black cocker spaniel I sketched with your pencil set. Thanks for another fantastic tutorial!

Hey thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I find flowers to be challenging too I really love doing portraits as well, and will be doing some videos on them in the future. They may have to be multi-part as they do take longer.

Have just followed along with a replay. Being able to stop and start it, maybe with a rewind, is so helpful. Just loved this tutorial and hope to see many more, particularly flowers and landscapes. Even still life. Watercolour, oils and charcoal/pencils. Certainly appreciated being able to learn how to paint like this in real time. Many thanks.
