thank you for the honest review of our movie Oriana Rises. We realize it is far from perfect and we made this for a film contest where we had 3 months to write, film and edit a feature film. Since we are a no budget film company our actors all have day jobs and while 3 months seems like a long time, schedule conflicts etc. had us down to the wire to get it submitted, and side note... we did win first place. You were correct in that there was not much of a budget. We made this film for under $500.

We try to be honest with our reviews and also to be positive. With the budget and time you had, plus inexperienced actors, I think you did very well. Hopefully you can go on and make more, with more time. Good luck with all your future projects.

Your review was "spot on" in that this is not a film for everyone. Apparently American humor is not for the English as it shows in the films IMDb ratings for 3 ones, a 10, 9 and 2 versus the ratio of U.S. 10s and 9s that were given; the 9.9/10 rating is apparent for its acceptance in the United States. My take on the film was not totally from a technical viewpoint, nor did it appear to be digitally remastered, and the jump cuts did give it a Cultish look. The tongue in cheek humor and comedic dialogue also appeared to be done on purpose. It looks like from the plethora of Festival Best Awards wins and nominations some viewers found this film to be worthy of their accolades and future acceptance.

Well as you aptly put ‘It’s not my kind of film’ this is a cult classic genre which it’s targeted for. 86 global awards and 115 nominations and two specialty awards from Europe for originality and style. Familiarity- yes - deliberate. No it’s not a comedy, no it’s not a horror - Hence the tag ‘Dark Comedy’ it does not come close to a $300 million dollar film and is not dark and gory like Sweeney Todd. I appreciate your honesty but as you also put it… ‘Let people see it and decide for themselves’ again thank you and have a wonderful day.

Apologies for the mistake at the beginning of this weeks episode, this was due to an error by a member of the editing staff. That member of staff has now been removed from our organisation and flogged with a cat of nine tails for an hour in the car park as a warning to other staff. We hope this mistake doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the episode.

Yeah I discovered last October when I saw the Scorpions and was blown away by their bluesy 70's hard rock riffs- which is sorely needed today. As all my 70's hard rock bands age out I'm looking forward to The Gems carrying the torch. If 'Like A Phoenix' represents what they're gonna do then this band will be huge.

their opening salvo "like a phoenix" is a great song, now they're saying they have 15 more in the can, going to mix? plus they've been playing live shows? these girls are busier than a 1 legged man in an ass-kicking contest!!! i wish they'd tour the entire united states. then i could see them live. i am really curious what they will do about a permanent bass player. a man on the stage with them looks out of place. i'm sooo looking forward to their record next year, i know it's going to kick ass. i just know it.

Edgar Allan Poe never wrote "The Raven," he merely claimed it in a kind of 19th-century "identity theft." The poem's premiere was submitted anonymously to "American Review" under the pseudonym "---- Quarles" by the true author, Mathew Franklin Whittier, younger brother of poet John Greenleaf Whittier. Poe, a critic for the New York "Evening Mirror," finding the poem in an advance copy of "American Review," scooped Mathew in his own paper by two days. Mathew had shared a copy of "The Raven" with Poe in early 1842, so Poe had a handwritten copy in his possession. This enabled him to convince his editor that he had permission to scoop "American Review"--but he mysteriously left the "Mirror" shortly afterwards (suggesting that he may have been fired for lying about it). It is the height of absurdity that the editor of a newly-launched monthly literary magazine like the "Review," would have given a daily newspaper this permission. The real author was not in a position to reveal his identity because of his anti-slavery work and connection with the Underground Railroad, and hence could not publicly defend himself. See my paper, "Evidence that Edgar Allan Poe Stole 'The Raven' from Mathew Franklin Whittier," which can be downloaded from the link, below. It can also be found by searching for the paper's title on Academia.edu. www.ial.goldthread.com/MFW_The_Raven.pdf

Thank you for that, I had no idea of this. I have seen online accounts of "evidence" of plagiarism by Poe of existing poems by Dickins and Browning, amongst others. It is, however, still widely accepted by the majority of both lay people and academics that Poe was the author of The Raven.

@@thraveproductions8531 The poem you refer to by Elizabeth Barrett, "Lady Geraldine's Courtship," was also written by Mathew Franklin Whittier. It appears that in 1842, a few months after his wife Abby's death, Mathew saw fit to send his unpublished work--including several of his tributes to Abby--to various literati, in America and overseas. Most would have been honorable, but a few--the imposters--plagiarized him. Poe and Barrett were unaware that the respective poems they falsely claimed--"The Raven" and "Lady Geraldine's Courtship"--contained a virtually identical line concerning "purple curtains." That's because both poems were based on real-life events, and there really *were* purple curtains which reminded Mathew of Abby. Poe did "damage control" by lavishly pretending to admire Barrett, in his dedication to "The Raven and Other Poems." The whole thing is depressingly obvious if you allow yourself to consider that both of these world-famous poets were actually literary imposters. I know full-well it's a major paradigm shift.

Thank you for watching Trace and taking the time to discuss it. We had a massive problem with the CGI getting finished. We shot the film 10 years ago and definitely didn't shoot it properly for the CGI we imagined for it. The main issue was that no one could track or roto a good amount of the shots. So, many years went by of opening the project up and taking stabs at it until we settled on losing a few big shots we really wanted to work out. It was incredibly fun to shoot apart from the daily dust storms. We are very happy that it's finally complete and people enjoy it for what it is, campy CGI and all. Thanks again.
