Over-contrasted, so the textures and details are partly lost. I would also dial back on the noise reduction, which, at this level, results in smearing. Good effort.

Those were crazy times over there, I was stationed at a fighter base in Thailand that was used in the Vietnam war at the time of the fall of Saigon. A few days prior Cambodia fell to the Khmer Rouge, then Saigon and a couple of weeks later the Khmer Rouge captured the US container ship the SS Mayaguez. Our base was a beehive of activity at that time and the strangest sight was seeing a helicopter land and guys in white dress shirts and ties and wearing sunglasses hop off carrying an M60 machine gun and a grenade launcher, just your average business types? A Lt. Colonel standing next to me at the flightline remarked, "Ya think they might be CIA?"

One man shattered Hitler's vision of "Aryan" Superiority. That man was Jesse Owens.

Owens run in the 100m final wearing white spikes. Something not very common in that era. We see his white spikes even better in this colored video. But when Owens is shown all alone to take place for the start, he is wearing black spikes! That's almost funny! They didn't notice that detail when editing this video (film back then).

Its not unbelievable when you understand that The Flintstones was a PRIME TIME SITCOM of the era and was expected to attract sponsors just like any other show. Have you watched the original series?? It wasn't a kiddie show. It was a send-up of The Honeymooners. In fact, it was hardly interesting for kids in any case. It was about a blue collar schlub trying to get ahead in life. Pebbles didn't show up until third season.

Growing up in San Francisco in the mid 50's i remember all those places. Whitney's Playland at the beach, Stow lake in Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's wharf. My grandparents use to take me there every friday night for dinner. It was a different generation back then and the city of San Francisco was the place to be.

It's not perfect, as I can see some color bending and the constant back and fourth between Black and White and Color. The longer and more tedious way to do it, is to have each of the black and white videos be exported in PNG photos, colorize each and every one of them, and then put them together, frame by frame, and then you'll be able to get constant color.....But that's just me.

I watched these events on cbs starting with the evacuation of the US embassy in Saigon with Dad back in 75 when I was 14 years old. He is a Navy flattop veteran and told me and my younger brothers what the circumstances of what was happening when Sailors were pushing Hueys over the side. Midway Captain Lawrence Chambers had a difficult decision to make. He could let a South Vietnamese AF officer and his family try to survive a water landing in a small plane or make room for them to land on the flight deck. He wisely chose the latter.

This video was taken in 1955: several of the vehicles show California license plates that were issued in 1951 (yellow letters and numbers on a black background), with a light-colored annual registration tag in their upper right-hand corners; the tag color for that year was light gray with a black "55" embossed on them; and at 2:15, there is a large "SP" sign at the end of California St. that was constructed in March,1954 and dismantled in Sept.1961.
