You were great , man I had a hard time understanding most of what he said . Signs .and road markings are terrible in Mexico He was not on the take. My maid just left and I thought her Spanish was hard to understand . You were honest the police are not vain like the U.S. He knew this was not marked well and was just checking you out doing his job. I was with my Mexican friend speeding and pulled over by the federal police so he just took out money to pay him, he went crazy he was honest. There are no more federal police in Mexico because of the corruption the national guard has full control and write tickets. I miss those iconic cars. Safe travels .

I've been living in TJ for the past 6 months. I drive a large pickup truck. Within my first 2 months i got stopped one night heading home from work for tinted windows. The cop attempted to scare me into paying him "tow and ticket fees" in order for him to let me go. He even showed me a video on his phone of some random car getting towed. He followed me to the gas station so I could pull out pesos to give him, $3000 pesos to be exact. Had to sneak the money into his passenger side door. Just a disgustingly corrupt situation overall. 2 months later the same cop and his partner stopped me again. This time i called him out on his extortion act few months ago. He ended up towing my pickup truck. Luckily at the time i had just started dating someone who actually used to be a lawyer in Tijuana. She came and attempted to talk to the cop to no luck. She took off work the next day to take me through the process of getting my truck back, even talking to the judge on my behalf. Tjwt process is extremely long and expensive. Her lawyer connects and experience not only lowered my ticket fees, but i was able to get my truck back that evening instead of 5 days later.
