There is a little trace of drum solo right at the end but this slays the Moises version, more drums removed a lot beefier
@rufuspage62102 күн бұрын
Tricky to do the intro as it's solo drums, but I've tried to bring it in as best I can - the track itself is drumless as I could get it anyway.

You're the only one who makes proper James Brown instrumentals without just looping one part of his songs. Love it man
@rufuspage621017 күн бұрын
Wow, thank you!! I didn't realise the whole looping JB thing was that widespread! I'm really pleased you like them, I've been using new software the last three months or so, have been getting much cleaner results, with less vocal bleeding and more of the original instruments retained in the mix 😀

This track was becoming a right chore until I sussed it, one solitary high bass note was missing at the start of the first verse (after the snare fill lead-in) so after the drums were removed I exported the bass track seperately and stole the one note needed to replace it. Nightmare lol

Was difficult to manufacture a visual countdown on this one due to the wierd fill Copeland performs at the start, you can hear this fill slightly as it bled on to another track and was difficult to remove. The remaining track is pretty much drumless though, the AI had a bit of a blip with the intro. But you may be able to work the drum fill out from this and play over the top, after the countdown.

Just goes to show how good a drummer Ringo was, that the song sounds very basic without the drums.

There are a few bongos lurking about in the second half, couldn't remove them but they will probably fit together when played with the kit ;)

This track is notorious for not being able to fully remove the drumkit, you can faintly hear the double snare flam near the start and a few drums here and there but overall not too bad. The remaining instruments are also in pretty good quality. I put it through Lalal.ai twice to remove as many drums as I could, as the first attempt didn't quite remove enough!

I left the percussion intro as some background keyboard noise was lost when I removed it. The main drumkit has been removed from the point Phil plays it, aside from the first four hits of the intro which was bleeding onto one of the instrumental tracks, which was hard to remove. Far better overall quality than Moises anyway.

I made a better quality, shorter version of this using Lalal.ai, much more quality of the original track is retained and a better option if you don't want to sit there and drum for 12 minutes. The track also stops dead at the end so you don't have to fade yourself out 😉 Soul Power (Re-Edit/Mono) (drumless): kzbin.info/www/bejne/Znapq5auet2ZeZo

Nearly drumless - the A.I. had a bit of a hissy fit....a lot of the drums bleed on to the remaining tracks to begin with - best I could do after multiple attempts....

Another re-upload, the guitars and vocals are much clearer with lalal.ai - still slight traces of drums here and there but far less than the previous version.

Not the best quality but the best I could do with this one. I just wanted to drum to it to be fair :) I tried all settings on Lalal and this was the best option.

There are little bits on here that sound like the drums, these are mostly acoustic guitar strums and odd bits of percussion. The solo drum track was pretty clean on it's own, ergo the main kit is gone.

First attempted this track two-odd years ago using Moises, thought I'd give it a try using lalal.ai and was surprised at the quality difference. Everything is a lot clearer, especially the vocals - Lalal separation is far superior! 🙂

I uploaded this a few months ago but this Lalal version was far more detailed and full-sounding, with more drums removed. There are still slight traces of kit in the background but the overall quality is far better. Had to keep the drums in the final cresendo as the orchestration was on that track and would have disappeared had I muted them, as they bled onto that track. Ended up splicing different parts of the drum track and turning them on and off to remove the drums but still maintain the quality where I could

The Nightfly remains a favorite among audiophiles. According to Paul Tingen of Sound on Sound, the album was "for years a popular demonstration record in hi-fi stores across the globe". Paul White, editor-in-chief of Sound on Sound, said The Nightfly "is always a good reference for checking out monitoring systems and shows what good results could be obtained from those early digital recording systems in the right hands". In addition to its use in recording studio tests, Clive Young of Pro Sound News called Fagen's "I.G.Y." the "Free Bird" of pro audio, claiming that almost every live sound engineer uses the song to test the front-of-house system's sound response. EQ Magazine rated The Nightfly as among the Top 10 Best Recorded Albums of All Time, alongside the Beatles's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds.

"I.G.Y." refers to the "International Geophysical Year", an event that ran from July 1957 to December 1958. The I.G.Y. was an international scientific project promoting collaboration among the world's scientists. Fagen's lyrics reference, from the point of view of that time, an optimistic vision of futuristic concepts such as solar-powered cities, a transatlantic tunnel, permanent space stations, and spandex jackets. Fagen remembered being enchanted by the prospects of a "gleaming future" and hoped to give an optimistic look back at it.
