Great video! I know you are with the Austrailian Labradoodle Association, but do you happen to know if there is a similar organization for cavapoos where I might find this type of instructional video? Thank you.

It is unfortunate that people confuse this dog with the popular labradoodle they are familiar with. If it didnt have the word labradoodle in its name they wouldnt be so "smart" about what they say.

So bad no prep shown, thinner shears over regular scissors would work better on this coat and for gods sakes clear it’s eyes so it can see to play. There’s no breed standard for these dogs because there’s no consistency in breeding

I am surprised by all of the groomer comments. I have great clients who are smart enough to learn to properly brush and comb their dogs with a little education. Also, there are many breeds that require a natural look. Good groomers are educated in these natural looking heads. The Labradoodle trim on the head is very similar to a PBGV head. It takes practice and retraining your eye to a natural look as opposed to a scissored look.
@estherdouglas66482 жыл бұрын
You have amazing clients then. No matter how many times I have to tell and showthe owner to brush thier dog properly it still comes back matted. And everytime they like to send a novel on how I cut the dog wrong last time and how to do it. Yet the.dog itatter again. I now have a 3.strike policy. Brush him or I'll no longer be your groomer.

this video is making the rounds at professional grooming salons in arizona and it is a JOKE. The cut is crooked, the hair is never that easy to go thru with such a long blade. Just so you know the PROFFESSIONALS are horrified by the treatment of the dog. (rough groomer, bad angle of the clippers etc etc. Just stop telling people this is the breed norm. It makes our jobs so much harder

Now I know where my client got his picture from. Ugh! Horrible! This is where the internet gets dangerous. Who started this Association? What grooming qualifications do they have? So you can just not only start your own random breed of dogs but now you can just start a random association, and people will think "oh they must know...they must be a real authority." Do your RESEARCH people please!!!!

Actually Australian labradoodle's have been breed for 40 yrs. There is a difference in a labradoodle and an Australian labradoodle...
@karinacamper59816 жыл бұрын
A whole 40 years is nothing when it comes to dog breeding, honestly. I mean that's all in one lifetime... Not to mention that it's not even an actual breed and has no standard because it's still just two breeds mixed, too inconsistent. A doodle is a doodle. Still just a mutt.
@whitney32585 жыл бұрын
@@crazycanecorsolady I didn't say it was. I just said that there is a difference... And in the "Australian labradoodle community" they have a standard cut. I'm not suggesting everyone should go out and get a "designer dog" there are WAY TO MANY dogs that need homes. But let's not pretend that humans haven't created EVERY specific breed. All dogs started from wolves and thru domestication and select breeding different types of dog breeds were formed. It's not like God created Bulldogs or Poodles specifically- that was human intervention.

I cannot find a 10 blade razor. is this a special clipper? My puppy is 7 months old andi do not want his hair cut really short. I would prefer his hair to be about 1-1/2" long
@promptvalues36785 жыл бұрын
The #10 clipper blade is so common, both the Oster A5 and the Wahl KM cordless that I have came with them already installed. You also need to look at getting a set of combs that will attach to your clippers to set the length of hair/fur that you want.
@svalentin53476 жыл бұрын
You forgot to mention that these mixed breed mitts need thorough brushing to be able to do this clip successfully. That E comb won't go through any kind of knot let alone a mat! You also failed to mention that these coats need to be washed thoroughly and fully dry! You'll wreck your blade doing this hair cut on a dirty coat.I should also mention the way you trimmed that dogs ear was dangerous and cringeworthy and if I see you doing that again I'm confiscating those shears from you
@mypetgiraffe42363 жыл бұрын
S Valentin, I agree with you on almost Every point. 🙂 However... calling Labradoodles mutts is kind of insulting and implies that all the other AKC approved "breeds" Are NOT All Mutts and mixed breeds. 🤷🏻♀️🙂 There isn't 1 single "pure bred" ACK registered dog that didn't have more than 1 breed included in it's genetic make up, as it was being developed. Australian Labradoodles are developing a uniform look with each successful litter. The same as Any other AKC "breed" development. My boy is a stud dog, and ALL of his babies look Just Like Him and their dam. They've also had genetic testing for ALL the health problems of the parent breeds and good joint x-rays Before breeding. My boys babies are All Curly parti colored apricot and chocolate with white and he And his babies are Georgeous (though I may be a bit biased... lol). 😉 Also... Having been a former professional dog groomer for over 25 years, I'd like to add that a product called Cowboy Magic, and a special slicker brush made by Chris Christopherson (don't buy on Amazon! They break easily) helps Immensely with any tangles you suddenly find during the brush out, and with the comb through before the bath and hair cut. This video was interesting. But to cut the bangs so long makes for poor vision and eye problems/infections. We go on play dates once a week with over 30 other dogs at a Huge dog park thats close by. None of those doodles have confirmation problems, and None of them have long bangs that hang down like some kind of sheep dog. It just Isn't practical to keep the bangs that long.

It would have been nice to start the instructions with "having a clean blown dry and fluffed Labradoodle is key in the grooming process!" You can see the clipper being pushed at the bottom of the chest in this video. You should never push a clipper. Dog wasn't even brushed out. Giving people the idea that grooming is easy is what makes it hard for groomers to be taken seriously.

Just to give you a clue, it'll take you a while util you feel secure to do it and until you'll be satisfied with the result ;-) Enjoy and be careful with your doodle!
