Oh jeez. I didn’t realize there was a loss of a father in that book lol. I should be okay…. I’ve read books that have undertones of dealing with grief and I’ve been fine. But thank you for the heads up!

My dad passed away in August and I read Dead Romantics recently too. The quotes about grief and her dad were both heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time, and I loved it. I gave it 5 stars!

@@WendysInspiredReads yeah, I think you’re right when you said it depends on the person and where they’re at with coping with their grief. I just know my daddy is having the time of his life in heaven now, and in a body that’s no longer full of illness like his was, so that brings me joy for him, despite how much I miss him being here! Totally depends on the person though for sure. We all process it differently, and that’s okay.

For Dust Bowl literature, you're going to want to read The Grapes of Wrath (though I prefer Steinbeck's East of Eden, which is one of my fave books and he's one of my fave authors - tip: skip Tortilla Flats, it's a weak version of Cannery Row).
