The type of incense sticks they use and the fact that they offer them in threes is a Chinese tradition. Having the big round pot in front of the murti to stick the incense sticks in is also Chinese influence. The most characteristic Chinese influence is at 4:15. The woman in the blue-green shirt shaking that little box that makes a rattling noise. On the box, there's a little hole and the box are little sticks with fortunes on them. The devotee asks the deity a question and the stick that comes out is the answer. This is a Chinese tradition that's spread throughout East and Southeast Asia. Thailand is the perfect blend of SE Asia, India and China altogether in harmony.
