Thanks Greg, no matter how old I get these things bare repeating to sink in for me & think about sometimes. a covenant is an ongoing accord, a promise, bargain, an agreement- like an HOA member, a Home Owners Agreement- its ongoing- you sign up and agree to its covenants when you buy a house in a neighborhood and then as long as you own it- its ongoing behaviors youve agreed to. If you reneg, you are going back on your word & in a deceptive manor. Its a Testament. The Old Testament is different than the New Testament. A new agreement. Thats ongoing. I remember the Get out of jail free card pushed in the 70s & 80s. Once Saved, always saved. (sounded good to me- no committment, perfect) My faith evolves/grows like I hopefully & try to do. Just when I think Ims a total loser I realize I have in fact grown over the years as I slowly get to know Him. I am relieved I am not the same christian I was 20 years ago. But a long way to go.

i love that. Most likely no one will ever read this but its OK. Thinking thats about the only way i pray for people these days-that they would have a desire to seek you- esp if their so messed up I dont even know how to pray or how to figure out what God should do (!) you can get overwhelmed and maybe demons confuse you- so you blow it off. Its one more thing to be confused about. I am winding down reading The Bible in a Year Plan-so I just started Revelation. This will be my fifth or 6th year. When I started- it was more of a check the box every day- have never missed a day- but w each year it seems I search a bit more, or read the whole book sometimes- makes more sense, or use studies or commentaries or You Tubes. One thing I discovered thats a keeper is Bible Gateway and do audio Psalms using the hour timer to help me go slow my brain down & go to sleep. So many versions and narrators. My favorite right now is David Suchet NIV/ANGLlove the way he reads & his voice. Merry Christmas Woodland Hills.

These Magi were the descendants of their forefathers who had been instructed by Daniel, imagine that...wow!!

It is difficult to know if this is an accurate quoting of Jesus's exact words, because the only people who wield swords usually are rebels, pirates and troublemakers. With all the modern hi-tech weaponry available now, the idea of a modern-day army going into battle brandishing gleaming swords is somewhat archaic and medieval.🌵🌵☘🌺

People can have all kinds of knowledge of LOVE, but if they really knew what and who love was and is, there would be inner transformation spilling out into, as Dan said, faithfulness.

Oh my god it's way more complicated than this. You have to look at the historical constructs that created the division. the Anabaptist revolution was formed from martin luther publishing plain text versions of the bible when people just saw priests interpreting the latin bible as law. The moment they figured out the priests were just lying to people to steal their wealth via donation and taxation, they rebelled and interpreted the bible in their own way. The church responded to anabaptists by flaying them alive in cages after their failed religious revolution. Look it up.

St. Lambert's Cathedral | Munster, Germany The Münster Rebellion was an attempt by radical Anabaptists to establish a communal sectarian government in the German city of Münster. The city was under Anabaptist rule from February 1534, when the city hall was seized and Bernhard Knipperdolling installed as mayor, until its fall in June 1535 After lengthy resistance, the city was taken by the besiegers on June 24, 1535. The army of Münster was defeated in 1535 by the prince-bishop Franz von Waldeck, and John of Leiden was captured. He was found in the cellar of a house, from where he was taken to a dungeon in Dülmen, then brought back to Münster. On January 22, 1536, along with Bernhard Krechting and Bernhard Knipperdolling, he was tortured and then executed. Each of the three was attached to a pole by an iron spiked collar and his body ripped with red-hot tongs for the space of an hour. After Knipperdolling saw the process of torturing John of Leiden, he attempted to kill himself with the collar, using it to choke himself. After that the executioner tied him to the stake to make it impossible for him to kill himself. After the burning, their tongues were pulled out with tongs before each was killed with a burning dagger thrust through the heart. The bodies were placed in three cages and hung from the steeple of St. Lambert's Church and the remains left to rot. About fifty years later the bones were removed, but the cages have remained into the 21st century.

Dan you went full circle bridging the purpose of the community of church (different perspectives), and explaining Eve/Adam. I’ve read Genesis but missed the mandate to Adam. Now to the strong feminist in my life I can soften the blow. Shawna’s nugget, is what we all think/experience but don’t say. Great Musecast!!

This was one of Boyd's worst sermons and it is pitiful that he would butcher Revelation so badly in order to force it to fit his theology. I may have to a refutation of this sham of a sermon.

Why would we trust certain sects of Jews to tell us what books are inspired by the Holy Spirit in our Bible rather than trusting the Holy Spirit that was guiding his church for 1500 years instead? By this logic, we should remove the entire New Testament because absolutely no Jews accept the New Testament as scripture.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
