Im curious to hear what you both and anyone else thjnk about how airsoft changed. What was the hobby like before compared to now? Anyone feel free to share

In the UK it has in general become much more of a ‘Call of Duty’ simulator. More emphasis on shorter games played on smaller restricted gaming areas. The replicas used are more performance tuned and rate of fire and power has increased. People are more focused on winning than having a good time. It’s more accessible and popular which brings in a different user base.

I'm a casual collector of web gear, snag a web gear from this war for low bucks, before things went too high to want on E bay. the person before dyed it black took off the mask bag, the stuff off the back section and added a small backpack. And I was to for just that and when I went to a flea market there for 20 bucks was a uniform and my size to boot, then later ran into a cold weather, once again from that time period and all with the same matching camo. if I chance to ran into boots and a cap, cool and as it is I'm a happy American to get what I got.

@AnvilAirsoftTV it looked like you were at a flat range testing the accuracy of that aeg. But you didnt use a bench rest or even sandbags. Just a bipod which helps with accuracy but isnt sufficient to truly test accuracy. Great video sorry about the tyrannical yt rules.

Yeah man I totally get it. I still have all my airsoft stuff, but luckily most of that was ALREADY military surplus. I've moved on to basically exclusively living history and reenactment milsim. I'll still go to a pick up game now and then purely for the fun but it really is few and far between. I still think they're fun toys to plink around with, too. My friends and I go out to some property we have access to, dress in impressions, and LARP. Sometimes it's American Civil War, sometimes it's Vietnam. So it's a bit of a weird situation with me, I'm basically entire out of Airsoft as a hobby yet I'm still weirdly invested in it. I really like the concept of Manky Green Surplus, as milsurp has always where my heart has been with all of this. Good luck guys! Don't delete the airsoft videos, though!

Great video, also been loving your retro carbine vids recently for CAR15 project. Regarding the USW, I seem to be having an issue with the slide grinding/not cycling smoothly. It feels like friction somewhere near the back or like it's catching on something. However, hopeful it's just a lubricant issue, as it has seemed to appear after it's first proper clean. Should I be using LT2 gun grease on the slide? Any advice appreciated thanks.

I am really tempted about the molle webbing lbv osprey version... (Not the plate carrier). I thought about running mod loops for belt loops to attach my gun belt as well by weaving the mod loops through the bottom row of the molle of the osprey lbv... hanging down these mod straps would link up to my belt like seen on other assault vests including my Mil-Tec modular system in O.D which is holding my IDOGEAR bison belt replica. Thought about doing this for a fall, winter, arid, desert, farmland & dead vegetation loadout in north america.

I run a mix of battle belt as well as a plate carrier, however as for the plate carrier I typically use it to carry a small haver sack and my radio on the back and on the front a tertiary pistol with an extra mag, one storage pouch for comestibles and the like and a dual long magazine pouch for my Mac 10 magazines, on my belt I carry four or five dual magazine pouches for a total of about eleven or thirteen magazines in total, on my left, on my back left and center I carry two grenade pouches, next to them on my right I have a dump pouch and next to that a first aid pouch and lastly four additional ancillary pouches for well just about anything I need, be it snacks, additional grenades, batteries or whatever I can keep it all on me whenever I’m in the field, that being said I’ll only use the plate carrier if I’m expecting to be in a very long game such as NAF,

It’s a sort of unspoken law really in the world of military, which is kinda weird and sad considering that yes having the most powerful, most accurate and highest ammo capacity rifle available is great and all but it’s not exactly useful if the poor bastard ends up keeling over from exhaustion or is trapped in some brambles all because his equipment wasn’t working or fitted properly

Suppressors on real steel (with few exceptions) don't reduce the "crack", they reduce the "bang". the "crack" is the sonic boom of the ammo (there are a few suppressors, like the one in the MP5SN that reduce the speed of otherwise supersonic ammo). *Typically* you are correct regarding the reduction (deafening is reduced to "very loud"); but it depends on the gun and the suppressor. There *are* examples of "Hollywood quiet" rigs. But yes, usually the point of a suppressor on real steel is to protect hearing (less ear required); and there are benefits to "did you hear that shot a mile over there? let's go find the shooter and kill him".
