@@kravmagawest Yes it was very helpful thank you Harj, I have enjoyed watching your instructional videos. I am considering joining Krav Maga Midlands as this would be the nearest group to me. I have never trained in Krav Maga previously but I have a background in Japanese Ju-Jitsu so cross training would be very beneficial? Any advice you can offer would be very helpful. Thank you. Best regards, Stefano.

I have taught students who are blank canvasses and students who have a plethora of training history. And all those in between. I think it's great if you have trained before and have an open mind to try something new. You'll find connections in previous learned material and some big differences. Just be open to what the instructor is showing you and you'll do great. I actively encourage my students to cross training when they can 'handle it'. I wish you all the best on your journey.

Great reminder to not shake hands. We're conditioned in polite society to reciprocate, but it's best to assume the other person is a predator. Thanks for including the hand stroke for women too; younger, more naive me has been in this position before and not known what to do, and not wanted to offend the other person.

Great breakdown of the video. The group monkey dance can have devastating effects, and it shows you can't underestimate people when adrenaline is flowing, especially with weapons involved. Great message too re ego, which can be more difficult for young men especially in the moment. It's important to consider what's important in advance so you're more likely to react the way you want under pressure.

What I would like to see - Apologies if you have already covered this. However I am keen to see if there's some body posturing plus something that has spoken, that makes it crystal clear that I am not the aggressor. I'm thinking things like CCTV footage being reviewed later by police that proves my innocence. At the moment I'm working with : * open hands in front & moving away to maintain safe distance * verbalising 'look stop, I want no problem,' again as I back away. I really like the obvious 'no threat' and to Keep It Simple. Anything else would be appreciated.

Hi. My Name is Peter and I am from Austria. I like your Videos. They are very helpful. You show Trainingsdrills where you can also train alone. I like that. But I have a question: Could you also show something with the karambit?
@kravmagawest Жыл бұрын
Hi Peter. Massive thank you for the feedback and I'm glad you get something from the videos. I have experience with karambit, but that was mainly from FMA. It's not a weapon system I've come across much in Krav and I certainly am not knowledgeable enough to teach on the subject. I like point driven systems involving short blade and clinch pick.

I train with a former military contractor who fought MMA and he used to train with a seal. The second you decide you're going to put your hands on anyone, you need to try and go first, and be so violent to where you control when you decide to back off, so they don't have a chance to come back at you. Krav Maga is some of the stuff we train, in all honesty, it's one of the best. Fingers to the eyes, groin shots, ear slaps, and like the seal told my buddy, if you find yourself in a bad situation and you have access to someone's ear, "rip that mother fucker off"

It won't look as bad if you hit someone and you get caught on a street camera if the police get involved it's something I would use it's also something they wouldn't expect

Hello Harj I have used your cue drills a couple of times now.I think they are crucial drills to learn and helps with the rabbit in the headlights syndrome, about ten years ago I was attacked by four drunks outside a supermarket market in the early hours of the morning I was going to work. The first one fronted me and I tried to control the situation before it escalated into violence unfortunately to no avail and I ended up second best and being hit over the head with a bottle twice.when I thought about it afterwards I was annoyed with myself because the first bottle over the head I stood and watched him do it before I started my defence. That is why I think these drills are so important to learn. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in the videos you do. Keep well and safe.🙏🙏🙏
@kravmagawest Жыл бұрын
Firstly I'm sorry to hear of your experience but also glad that you are still here to tell the tale. What a horrible situation. Yes the cue drills (inspired by Lee Morrison, Craig Douglas + Richard Dimitri) address that moment that if you recognise and perceive the action you could potentially do something before they do. Keep working them my friend 🙏
