What happen if the patient refused to stick their arm out for the IV and refused to in her allowance sedation and just refused to get IVs?

What would happen if the patient began to cry and just say I don’t like it in my hand? Honestly the hand hurts could they try the arm if the patient were to ask? Nice way?

We can use the hand or arm, whichever the child prefers.

Hello! If a child was not able to cooperate for a cannula, we are able to offer inhalation sedation first, before the cannulation and this can sometimes help.

How come after general anaesthesias you can be on your phone again but how come after IV sedation? You cannot be on your phone and how long you have to be off the phone for?

Hello! The sedative that we use (midazolam) causes anterograde amnesia, so patients often do not remember afterwards for up to 24 hours and so we advise them not to use phones, not to drive etc.
