Hearing not one iota of Hendrix in this cowbell groove....One might try "Eire Apparent" ,produced by Jimi in '68 , which at least sounds like a poppy Electric Ladyland . kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGfLk6uMjbikldk

This was funny as hell until I turned 47. Then it was getting harder and harder to see any humor in it. 😜

I own four Cat Mother albums, were there anymore. A wonderful time in music and life in general. Great sounds, thanks for sharing.

In the summer of 1969, I hitched a ride from a motel near Lake Tahoe to a small club where Cat Mother played a great show. I must be dreaming.

Bought this album and Albion Doo Wah here in the UK , must be 48 yrs ago. Loved so many tracks but “Marie” for its crescendo and “Strike a Match” for its daring ( for a teenager) subject matter stick out in my memory. Thanks for posting . Forgot how good Track in A was.

This is what a hot summer night on the Nebraska plains sounds like. And, they opened for Jimi Hendrix Experience.

If you search hard on the intertubz there's actually a recording of them opening for Jimi @ Madison Square Garden date unknown. It waws in the nosebleed seats and hardly listenable. FWIW they were his "Crash test band" while he was dialing in Electric Lady Studios on W. 8th st.

Loved this band. Don't know why until I go back to listen, but for some reason this song reminds me of something by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, probably from an album called Nuclear Fishin'.

Ironic how the cow bell was used by them and Santana in the same concert. And that organ too.

Heard them on June 28, 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena. They were the first act. The Santana Blues Band was next and Steppenwolf was third. Santana stole the show.

Saw `ya in `69 wid JIMI. Bought your album the very next day
@YouBastard950606 жыл бұрын
I remember when the band played a benefit at Alternate U on 6th avenue in the late 60s. I settled about 20 miles from Last Chance in the late 70s Still in the Cruz, but it's seriously gentrified now), and never caught the meaning of the album title or cover until I saw the millsite in the early 1980s. I'll be contacting you in the next few months about the CD.

One of the great boogie bands of all time. Came upon a cd of The Street giveth a while back, made my day. I sing around town (here in Prescott Az.) Always get a great crowd reaction when I play Strike a Match. The good stuff is timeless.

You had a really great sound. I was a kid when my big brother brought home a magazine with a review of your first album, and I went out and got two of them on vinyl, and enjoyed them. I’ve gotten Albion Doo Wah, Street Giveth on cd a couple of years ago. Enjoyed them. Best wishes!
