I think both elevators share the same shaft. I remember being able to hear people in the other car when I user to ride it up and down the stacks.

Also about floor 4, the reason why they locked it off, I think floor 4 leads to the rooftop. 2:54

I should probably go to Lincoln NE to see this elevator at Burnett Hall sometime soon.

Talk about an identity crisis. The dual chimes is almost like it refusing to want to be modded but being forced.

Interesting elevator, and even though these now have Innovation Decorator buttons, it would have been cool if they went with Innovation lanterns with square lenses, as well as green LEDs for the buttons. But I do like the way they kept the original Montgomery VFD floor indicators and mechanical bell.

I love your elevator videos! Wonderful showcases all around! But I need to ask, Burt Hall at KU was demolished over ten years ago now, is this video from before it was demolished?
@StarCityElevators9 күн бұрын
No it's not. The complex is a navigational nightmare, so it's hard to pinpoint what elevator is part of what complex.

It looked much better when it was original, but they could’ve done worse. At least Innovation Universal fixtures are OK (I believe they’re based on Dover’s original Traditional fixtures). Seems to ride nicely, but I bet the old one had a more fun ride. The doors should’ve stayed blue outside. Why does everything new have to be ugly neutral colors?? Modernized by Thyssen Krupp, but no distinctive Dover chime.

At the end of your video can you please show inside the elevator machine room if it’s open?
@xHadesStamps23 күн бұрын
Interestingly, this is top-drive. Very rare for a hydraulic, but it’s indeed top-drive. I was just there today, and the machine room is upstairs.

Basically at my former high school, the outer indicator number shows on all floors instead of the primary floors probably an Otis series 4 but with a series 5 indicator inside.

I quite like TK, but it’s ugly (as you said, they should’ve made the side walls glass), and has absolutely no right nor reason to be MRL. In other words, I don’t like this one at all.

I was there today. Starts were often accompanied by loud thuds, it occasionally rattled (which is a lot for a hydraulic), stops were sudden, and it was really slow, even for a hydraulic. It’s tired. Interesting chime. Not a TK chime.

The other day, I went to take some rides on these and film them, but after it stopped on the 5th floor without opening the doors (had to press the button myself), I cancelled the rest. They were rattling around pretty badly, and weren’t about to die with me in them.
