SxS generations has the best in music but those lyrics are just the best part of the song so it feels somewhat empty without them. 3ds just can't complete. Forces I love the remix. Og SA2 still absolutely a banger.

The SxSG version, despite the missing vocals, is just like if the SA2 version went Super.

Inspite of how dark and foreboding the music is, the lyrics accurately capture Shadow's change of heart and awakening to justice.

I'm surprised at how much of a departure the _Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020_ version was. That said, it feels like a beautiful subversion.

I may be alone on this, but I'm really glad they removed the vocals in the Shadow Generations version. Even if i could understand the lyrics, they completely kill the mood for me, and they honestly sound like theres no rhythm to it.

Forces > Original > ShGens > SGens = Tokyo for me... 😅 (I have a personal bias against the Gens ones, as the ShGens didn't have vocals and the SGens sounds much lighter compared to the rest (which is... well... Not for my taste))

To me the best version is …. SONIC FORCES !! Just because the change of the lyrics to be close to the fact that Shadow doesn’t understand what is happening I find this great ! In fact the Shadow DLC is great in terms of storylines and ideas , just poorly executed from how his friend are supporting him but then the illusion kicks in and everything is messed up : events , memories , relationship ….

Thanks to Shadow Generation Instrumentals version I now realize that this song has the Live and Learn Notes hide inside it

Despite being a disappointing game, the Forces remix goes undeniably hard

Jevil, the Chaos Jester. Hp: 35 Abilities: I CAN DO ANYTHING (will change how various mechanics work during the fight as damage is dealt.) Attacks: 1: Duplicate and fling clones at player at a rate of 10 clones per 5 seconds. 2: throws a Scythe at the player, 1-shotting them at the tip, and taking many more at the handle. 3: True Chaos, Jevil starts moving around WAY more and the only way to hurt him now is by hitting him while he's floating.

3DS > SXSG > Forces > SA2 > 2020

Now do Radical Highway, also including the snippets from Forces' Enemy Territory, but in a comically jarring way at the end of the video.

There's also another version of the Forces remix. It's a beta version that was accidentally put in launch version of the PC port.

The Shadow Generations one is so badass. I like the metal direction it's going for, but yeah, we need the vocals!!

Okay, but those are some _sick_ transitions.

I mean of course I do love how Shadow Gens reimagined the actual boss and the whole game's amazing, but when it comes to this song remixes, it would seem each version coming after the other, just downgrades the original version, Shadow gens included: - SA2 version (2001): The original is hands down the best. It just has everyhitng it needs, the guitars being noticeable but not the main focus in the song, with the isolated obscure and devious synths perfectly portraying Shadow's regrelfullness and at the same time, fears against fighting his own past, in both methaphorical and literal sense given Biolizard is his own prototype, then drums and the guitars apearoing again till finally hiting the song's clmax, also the vocals reappear again.Then the drums changing, giving an unique feel to a certain moment of the boss (when you make your way up Biolizard's core by Homming attacking the tiny floating balls). A masterpiece - SG 3DS remix (2011): Feels less "devious" and more groovy than the original, which kind of takes away the oriiginal feel of sorrow, as well as not mimickiing Shadow's regretfulness feel of the original track. Totally understandabla change, given sonic plays in this one instead, but musically feels weaker, and not as sad. Still not bad, a good remix. - Forces remix (2017): Suddenly EDM, which now completely kills the original nod to Shadow's feelings, and instead turns into a kind of some twisted scenario, which does fit to Forces context again yeah, but musically now feels confusing, all over the place. Whatever, it's still an okay remix. - Tokyo Olympics remix (2020): Okay just what the hell did they did to the beatiful structure and beat the original track had which wasn't touched up until now? Not to mention vocals are also gone. This trrack probably even shouldn't had been remixed at all for this game, just has no reason to be here other than being related to Shadow. Awful remix, tbh. - Shadow Gens remix (2024): While we finally don't have the awful modifcatons done since the 2017 ans 2020 remixes (thank god) the vocals are still no longer here, and overall the feel of this remix/theme is more of an "epic rock boss" with guitars being more prominent and the drums also, which turn this into a more "kicking ass" boss theme given you're the "ultimate super awesome hedgehog with alien powers" and doesnt carry any feel of sadness as intended in the original track. Not good or bad remix, just boring.
