I am very grateful for this way to pray with art - I have often desired this. And grateful for this particular visual and auditory prayer of the Forgiving father by Fr Wheaton, sj. I hope there will be others. Thank you.

The Visitation is one of my favorite stories! I can't even count how many times I have gone to one of my friends when I was in need and they welcomed me as Elizabeth welcomes Mary. A heart to heart, womb to womb love and welcome. Thank you, God!

The woman in white, how amazing that you can look at her two ways. The ambiguity is there. One way, she seems to be holding onto the cross with both hands while the man in black reaches for her. The other way she is clinging to the cross with one hand and reaching to pull the man up. What a powerful metaphor! Do we keep our faith to ourselves as in the woman grasping the cross with both hands, or do pull others to Christ while anchoring our faith on the cross, as she looks to be doing in the other perspective? These meditations are breathtaking.

No, she is not about to anoint Jesus. The woman has already anointed Jesus' feet. Now she wipes them with her hair, taking the dust of the street from his feet into her hair, making him clean while she bears the stain of the world - much as he does, taking our sins upon himself so that we may be clean. With oil she has comforted him as he comforts us, while she lives a life of rejection and suffering. Again, SHE is a reflection of the Christ.
