Now, finally, he's thought to himself "I know, I'll make it so that first place is no longer the winning spot, AND you can't win by being third - you have to be in the MIDDLE to win!" The logic of this structure fought with Brennan's power and it was such an impossible immovable-object-irresistable-force situation that the universe itself cracked, resulting in Brennan getting first AND second AND third all in one.

Actually, nobody should've won in this episode. After all, Ally and Oscar got tied in first place, but Brennan jumps down to third (yes, if there are multiple people in one position, the next value isn't the immediately following one).
