@@petermaina7131 The major is usually written in the I-20 but if the university’s website shows the major as Automotive Mechanics, you can tell the same. At times the course name and major is different in the acceptance letter and I-20.

@@petermaina7131 No it’s not the first subject. It is the area that you will be focusing on under your major. For example Business students can have specialization like Marketing, Finance, HR or any other major. It is not necessary that you need to have a specialization. You can choose your specialization in the later half of your degree usually.

So make sure you collect three things before the interview to enhance your chances. 1. What are some specialized support that WUST provides to students? 2. What are your strengths ? ( You will need to highlight your strengths in the interview) 3. What are your weaknesses? ( Get prepared to justify them)

@@petermaina7131 It depends. If you know any professional in this field or someone at the university just say that you know them. Otherwise, it is ok to say that I do not know people in this field but I am looking forward to knowing people in this field.

@@SabitaAdhikari-w4c Don’t worry. You are probably not getting the I-20 because your university is closed due to holidays. It has happened to our students before. Just take the proof that you have applied for the deferral and take your old I-20. Visa officer will not consider this factor while deciding the visa. All the best Sabita !

It will affect your application a little but there have been students with backlogs who have received the visa so make sure you have good reasons why you could not perform well.

Duolingo is just a English proficiency test so doing Duolingo is same as other proficiency test. It will not affect your interview. Your visa chances depends on other factors like your reasons, finances and intentions.
