poor Glenna, she died so young. Im sure it mustve hurt him even rho they were divorced; it seems like they "came up" together in the business. It seems he had an affair w Michelle Pfeiffer during DangerousL so maybe that's what caused the split. regardless, condolences to him if he ever reads this. so shocking and sad!

So unique, intense and versatile actor! Loved his role in In the line of Fire with Eastwood and he by far is one of my favorite actors of all time and he is so blessed with that voice of his to boot!

Great interview. John's such a fine artist and decent man. David too. I really enjoy David's questions and conversation. I wish he'd have continued in this format, he's great in this. I'll be doing True West this fall, playing Austin in SF. That play is a beast. But it's nice to be part of the legacy since Sam debuted it at Magic Theater in SF so long ago.

I love John's voice. It's so mellifluous and unique. Plus he has a mysterious charm that makes you get drawn in to what he’s saying.

Brenner was kinda being a jerk in this interview. He didn’t have the skills to be a talk show host and it’s quite obvious here.

I don't know how I never saw David Brenner's talk show, but he is terrific. Relaxed, gregarious, doesn't interrupt while pushing the conversation along, keeps things light and fun but slips in a question that elicits an interesting and sincere answer (e.g., Malkovich directing his wife), and throws in the requisite upcoming movie plug. I just read the history of the show and it aired for less than a year. That doesn't surprise me a bit, really.

As what Glenn Close mentioned in one of her interviews, that she wants to have a love affair with him. I can really understand why. The man is mysterious, sexy and mesmerizing.

He makes a good point about Stern on the intelligence part: Howard has always appealed to the lowest common denominator among the radio audience. As such, Stern was smart enough to realize this and capitalize on it, but not intelligent enough to branch out into the topics that Imus did.
