has anyone used the service called 'tutors & futures'? its a service where instead of teachers predicting your grades for UCAS application, they do it for you based on evidence you give them (proof of questions you've done etc). i'm tempted to do it since i did badly on my a-levels, and when it was January and my school was predicting my grades, it was quite hard to get the grades I wanted for my course - was very stressful. I don't want to be only judged based on my mocks and what I got for my Alevels this year. So in my situation its good, but it is £600 for this service which makes me hesitate and wonder if it is that much better than my school. Can anyone help me pls :)

Hey, I just wanted to say that you could take a gap year and resit that a level. You would get a better grade and then be able to apply to a better university. You have worked so hard so why should you settle for less. I understand how you feel cos I feel the exact same way. However you don’t want to waste money by going to a university you don’t like. In the gap year you could be earning money rather than wasting it. You just have to give yourself another chance and do your best.

have got a few offers for dental hygiene / dental hygiene and therapy but I focused more of my time on super curriculars, work experience, making my PS perfect, and practising for my interview than studying and I believe I'll get CDD too or worse when I need BCC. its not the end of the world I know, but the guilt is hitting me right now as I know how disappointed my parents would feel. I regret not properly studying and learning the content but I find it so so hard to sacrifice my free time to study, as the time I spent studying doesn't always end up being useful in tests and I just always feel like a failure. Yeah, if your school doesn't accept resit applicants, go to a college nearby, or a private college and ask them if you can resit. Regarding your predicted grades, ask them how it works, because when I resat I asked for what predicted grades I wanted. But I know sometimes teachers don't allow this, because they give them to you, but for people resitting it's a little bit different. When I received offers from both unis I was actually interested in, I couldn't believe it. I gave a lot of strength to actually try again. However, I'm full of regret for not having faith just because I was scared of disappointment and only starting to study in April/May. I still have slim chance to get in, but I'm terrified of results day and how am I going to tell my parents if stuff didn't go according to plan. It really is an emotional rollercoaster lol I will still try my best regardless, and if I fail, I might as well just skip a year, save up some money and do Access (I'm over 19). Ty so much for your video it was really motivating! I was just wondering how you applied to uni with your a-level grades? Would they ignore it and what would they do about predicted grades since I wouldn't have any?
@ThatMedicSid
@ThatMedicSid 3 ай бұрын
Your predicted grades would help out, so for example if you resat your exams and you applied to a that wanted AAA, and your achieved CCC, your predicted grades would be AAA, this tells the uni that you’re capable of getting those high entry requirement grades, and these predicted grades are determined by your teachers, but ofc you can always beg them to give you the best predicted grades

Please help, I saw that many people who resit get predicted grades from tutors if they school don't help out. Can I get private tutors online this summer for each my subjects and with enough evidence and tests, within UCAS time they can provide references?
@ThatMedicSid
@ThatMedicSid 3 ай бұрын
well normally you get predicted grades from the school you sit them with, so if you're re-sitting at your school then your school will have to give you the predicted grades. I literally went the teacher who was in charge of UCAS applications and told her I want her to predict me AAA and she was happy to do it. I dont think private tutors can give you predicted grades, it has to be the school/ college/ private college you're sitting your exams with.

@@ThatMedicSid hi thanks for the reply, my school doesn't help with resits, so if I were to go to a different exam centre and call them (a random college), but I would just resit exams and not do lessons, how would they predict me? Could I provide them evidence? Other people I reached out got their predicted grades through tutors
@ThatMedicSid

@@custardcreamzzz you can call them and ask them how they go about it specifically, i think it just depends on the college and how they do it, but do call them and find out

i've heard that it's a lot harder to get into medicine in the uk if you resit an exam. would you recommend applying to undergraduate medicine after taking a gap year, or to do a degree and apply for graduate medicine?
@ThatMedicSid
@ThatMedicSid 3 ай бұрын
honestly, i dont think its harder, if anything it will be easier because you have more time to revise and get better grades, and get work experience etc... I'd recommend understand what you wanna do, do you really wanna do medicine? Because at the end of the day doing a 3yr biomed course that you didnt really wanna do, doesn't at all guarantee you a spot for medicine. The harsh reality is you can do a degree and not get in for med. So i'd recommend if you dont get into Med first time round, take the year out and apply again, and if u really dont wanna take the year out, apply abroad in EU, there are med schools in Bulgaria, Romania, Italy etc... all of which aren't too competitive to get into, but that depends on your preference

I know how to study for a levels but UCAT is a different breed. Any advice for preparing for UCAT?
@ThatMedicSid
@ThatMedicSid 3 ай бұрын
yeah i'd highly highly recommend use this website called Medify, you have to pay for it buts its literally got everything on it. With the UCAT it's a lot of practice, make sure to start practicing 2 months before consistently. And top tip is be mindful of the time, if you cant figure out an answer its best to guess and move on. Because for example if for verbal reasoning you have 7s to answer per question, no matter what, after 7s you have to move on to the next question
