your cardigan looks incredible!! personally I really like the folded up sleeve. Similar to how in a normal sweater you'd knit ribbing at the end of the sleeves, folding it up gives it that same visual interest. You could fold it and put something like a button on it to make it look like it was intentional 😉 but also, you might feel more positive about the cardigan once you've taken a break from it for a while and can look at it again with a fresh perspective!

Sweaters on 3,5 mm needles requires some patience, but I'm sure the result would be great. I'm working on a video with a list of patterns for summer tops. I want to start something, but I'm afraid DK weight would be too thick for summer, and I'm not ready for something on 3mm needles now :-D

Prym has plastic knitting needles where the tips are slightly rounded. I especially liked their plastic DPNs since they have a very smooth texture, unlike their fixed circulars and crochet hooks, but I found myself feeling much more confident on bringing them to the airport since they're plastic and don't have pointy tips :) another great video, I hope you have a great trip(s)!

Wow, such a good tip, thank you! I didn't know about plastic DPNs, I'll try them. Normally I prefer needles with pointy tips, but for the airport rounded tips would work better, I agree.

As always, a great video. Your tips are very useful, especially being prepared to give up a project if it is turning out to be less enjoyable than you expected.. Removing that stress is very good. I often have to spend a lot of time in bed or at least resting due to medical issues. This can make me feel like my life is pretty worthless... By knitting and crocheting for myself and others I am able to turn this potentially useless time into something productive, plus all the benefits of colour and tactile sensory thngs from the yarn. @ColorPopKnits4 ай бұрын
Ravelry is great for this, yes, so it's my personal preferences. I don't think it would be possible to organise my patterns on Ravelry, since I have some I didn't buy there. And I like to keep everything in one place, and Notion is very customisable, so could be used to keep many different things. For patterns, for yarn, and for projects. I like the fact that I own this information, and no one but me can change/remove it.

Thanks for the compliment! It's great to hear you're giving it another shot with a smaller size. I wear my weekender a lot, and I have doubts as well. Not about the design, I like it, and it so comfy. I'll knit one more, I think. My doubts are about the quality of my work. It was the second sweater I made, and I did not do the best job with ribbing. So I think to knit another weekender in the same size, and unravel this one to reuse the yarn.

Thank you! Wow, Persian tiles blanket sounds interesting
@nannasallynelson39905 ай бұрын
Hi there, another great video. I keep my leftovers and wind them up on my ballwinder, knotting them together as I go. Like yarn with like. When I have enough, I hold it with at least 2 other yarns - one main colour (like white baby yarn) and one contrast - whatever I have. Maybe even 2 scrappy balls at times. And I make the baskets you showed. Also shopping type bags. I think the white baby yarn works like a 'carrier' yarn, supporting the knots, so I don't have to weave in all the ends. These have been very well recieved by friends and family, and admired when I go up the street. As for the cotton, I have been making 30cm squares to try out new stitches, both crochet and knit, and using them as wash cloths. This way I can try a new stitch but not get too bored by them if I don't have a big project in mind. I am not into socks much, cause I don't wear them myself. But these light yarns can also be used in bags, blankets and more. Never such a thing as 'unuseable' yarn
@ColorPopKnits5 ай бұрын
Hi! Wow, that's such a great idea, knotting leftovers together and using white yarn as a carrier later. I'll do this for some of my leftovers instead of starting projects I'm not sure I'll finish. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Kate, great to see you again. As far as I can tell, a Slipover and a Vest are pretty much the same thing, just based on wherever the designer grew up and localised language. As to your slipover, and you say you are disappointed with it. It seems to fit you very well, however I dislike such open arm holes on me, and maybe that is what is annoying you. Also, I think it is too pale for you with a white Tshirt - perhaps a coloured shirt underneath it will look better in your eyes.? I am really liking the way that blanket is turning out. That seems to be such a better use for that yarn and it looks terrific. The lace sweater - congratulations on making a swatch!!! and I am glad it helped you sort out the pattern before you started the main thing. The colour is very nice and I look forward to seeing the final item.

a great video. I think you were very sensible to abandon that sweater when you decided you no longer liked it. Frankly, I did not think the bobbles suited that yarn. It looks much better as a blanket, and now you can enjoy working it. I really like making blankets and do several every year - the only problem is deciding what to do with them... Actually I gift them to organisations that deal with crises - we have had a lot of flooding and some fires in our area in the last 5 months, so blankets are handy at times like that. Also, the homeless are always in need. Good for you being honest about a yarn you are not keen on - we don't have to like everything we try, but trying is good. Love the red sweater.
