For me …. The HTP was the best quality I could afford, nothing personal against the others. Service and support are second to none. The arc dynamics are on par with more expensive models.

So does Fornius and they are both high quality welders! I’ll take their Swedish made GF reinforced nylon drive roll system over any of the cheap cast aluminum

Blah blah blah. That coating doesn’t retain heat enough to make a difference, please prove to us the point in the old style being more reliable? Also 1 fan can move more air (cfm’s) than 10 fans depending on several factors so your point once again isn’t valid in the slightest. Sounds like you just wanna reason to but neverlast so have at it, but don’t state BS doing while on your way to the crapper!

​@bearkawiboy6246 I agree with you on this particular machine because I own this machine. However, I also own a 255ext, and a 400ext. I also owned a dynasty 350dx, and use a sychrowave 250 frequently. The everlast tig are easily as good as a Dynasty, and I'm also sure the htp's are as well. The 253 is nifty, but nothing like their tig machines.

Giving him too much credit. Some one here pointed out that these are not competitors for major $5 digit Miller industrial welders used 8 hours or more per day in gross environments; we'll use ours on our farm, and may repairing something in our restaurant kitchen. I have seen a video describing cleaning the insides of one of these, blow it out with compressed air. Coated boards, surface mount, whatcha mean? Those 2 fans might be noisy and the boards horizontal when vertical might be the MIL spec, but get a grip. Hack job review!

What home hobbies doesn’t have a grinder laying next to his welding projects. Also, not many people work out of their living room, but go wipe off your TV stand and see how much dust is on it. Every talking point in every comment you’ve made has been invalid and stupid at best.

And well worth it. They actually MANUFACTURE like 90% of their own components in Italy.

@@bearkawiboy6246 What difference does it make where it's made? Only the end result matters. Why is it worth any more than the Everlast? What can it do that the Everlast can't? I've been using mine for years and haven't a single issue.

Propulse 300 is nice but at nearly 6k dollars I could order a comparable miller (millermatic 255 or multi-matic 255) pulsed mig setup for about half that. When the propulse was introduced, I had the option to pre-order for about 3800 USD, I regret not doing that but I wasn't sure at the time I could afford it.

I fully agree with you, many of the cheaper Pulse MIG's appear to have 6 billion different settings that can be adjusted but getting them tuned in is almost impossible, the more expensive units you are actually paying for the simplicity of the company actually doing their homework and simplifying all the bullshit so that the thing just works with their presets for x thickness of metal. The HTP does this very well.

Have you figured out how to get htp up to Canada?

It’s a very good welder for the money. If your expectations are on par with what it can do. No issues with 1/4” or less at full power and it’s dual voltage so that’s a plus if you need it but remember it’s less amps for smaller jobs. Will Not run 6010. Runs 7018 1/8 just fine.

In my humble, this review is lamely done. The reviewer sounds whinny and the camera work is terrible (my wife is a retired videographer and executive who had a White House pass in her early days). Mark at EL already commented on Part 1, be a good reader! BTW I do not yet own a welder other than a HF piece of junk. Shopping and learning. I do not deny some of the negatives on EL, but this review is not the one.

I own both machines and decided to keep the HTP, not because it’s a better machine, but because of space. The Everlast is a more powerful machine, easy to operate IF you read the manual thoroughly. It’s drive system is mush better/robust. You’d have to go to the HTP 300 to get that. Yes, the internals may not be as pretty but I understand Everlast welders have a long history of trouble free operation. I also own the Invertig and my Everlast Tig was a better welder in many ways. If it weren’t so loud I would have kept it.

I'm thinking about buying the Everlast. Is it a easy machine to use. Is the pulse hard to get set right.

@@claudemaggard7162 it’s a bit tricky but not un-reasonable. I’m having more trouble with the HTP to be honest. None the less, just like any welding process, once you get it dialled in it works great.

I’ve had fantastic customer service with Everlast. I tripped over my plasma torch lead, snapped the connector off inside the machine and they overnighted me the parts, no cost, over a year after I bought the machine. I have a high interest in htp machines and may try one in the future, but I see comments about Everlasts customer service and like to add a positive here and there so that bad customer service doesn’t just become “here-say”. If guys have bad experiences by all means let the world know, but for guys who have good ones, that needs spread as well

@@bradwheeler6563 I have had a great experience with my Everlasting 225. I emailed them with questions and they got back to me the next day with a full page worth of info to my questions! This being my first welder, I had some very basic questions. I feel they went out of their way to get me going. Also, I bought it from Everlast and they delivered on time, Included a high quality MIG gun, TIG gun, Ground clamps are very very well made. My machine can do AC TIG so I can weld aluminum and Stainless, that's the main reason I chose it over other machines. Also 2000$ price tag, I am very happy with the Everlast 225 MTS lightning

Primeweld will get the customer interface award, but if you can put up with the attitude (which also comes across in the documentation, but the flip side is that they take an almost intellectual approach, very deep), EL has the most cutting edge tech, in this well read but still noob observer. From my reading of the comments elsewhere, use the well known DIY when servicing your EL, don't send it in--stories of slow slow return predominate. Frankly tho' I have not read the other several parts of this review, I sense a hit job and a halting slow delivery at that. I built my first electronic kits in the 1960s, so wiring, soldering, board pull and replace et als does not phase me. In fact I like the EL approach. Why send a modular unit away to have someone pull out a likely already diagnosed bad part, replace it and send it back?

Phoenix One - how long have you used your HTP and are you happy with it and support for it?

@@bra_todo I've had it for barely 3 months and decided to return it for a refund for which I had to pay their initial "free shipping" plus 2.7% credit card fees and the cost of shipping it back. Bought 2 HTP's so I've lost about $840 in charges. My complaint? They're a bit complicated to set, too heavy, specially with all cables attached to them permanently and only work on 220V and the Mig gun is only 10' feet long which is annoying and if you want to do Aluminum Mig, you have to buy a new set of Knurled rollers plus a different gun plus all the 'needed' accessories which cost a fortune on top of the cost of the welder ($2,200) which made no sense to me, thus my mistake of buying from usaweld.com cost me a pretty penny (a $840 penny!) so I switched to a TransSteel From Fronius and never been happier. Their standard 15' foot Mig/Mag gun welds all metals including aluminum with no special rollers (just got to change the gun Liner, $29) all the cables including the power cables are detachable, is synergic, easy to set up, doesn't blow even my 15A fuses and it only weights 33 Lbs. at a low price of $1,994 including shipping and no taxes. If you want to do tig, order it with the machine or it gets expensive later but it's all worth it. I love it!

I have not pulled the trigger yet and being based in Austria (home of the Fronius), I was leaning the Transsteel way for better local support, the simpler and robust interface and the dual input ports for the gas bottles... I looked but couldn't buy HTP here anyway, because the presumed manufacturer of HTP (an Italian company named Telwin) sells its own stuff here. True and consistent with Italian origin, the Telwins have fancier but more vulnerable interfaces IMHO... And a row of other small disadvantages. So, your difficult experience, which I am very sorry you went through, cements my decision in favor of the Fronius Transsteel 2200! And they do have good beer here.... And I once lived, worked and went to school in Phoenix Arizona... so I am partial to the name. Sincere greetings @Phoenix One!

@@Phoenix-One0922 I had the transsteel 2200 and wasn't crazy about the aluminum mig on thin stuff. Thick stuff that welder rocked. Besides aluminum that welder rocked for any kind of wire you put in it. And it ran great with fluxcore wire and 100 foot drop cord on 110v. I hated the tig on it and the stick was ok. I have the transtig 210 now and it's a beast

Actually Zila had a difficult time with the Everlast, couldn't get it dialed in the way he wanted to.

@@elcajoia619 your right but with the double pulse and he didn't use 5356 mig wire on the 5356 setting but he did a great job on single pulse. I communicated with him and he improved my welding skills by telling me the best way to use the special 4T setting on the 253dpi.

Hi supergarball are you welding aluminum with your 253 dpi? Wondering if you may have setting suggestions, I have been using the dpi 253 for about 2 years and still haven’t been able to nail down settings for 1/8” and 3/16” 6061 aluminum welding in pulse or Double pulse.

@@raymondcorreira847 Sorry, I don't have anything useful for you as far as settings. I've welded plenty of aluminum with the 253 dpi quite successfully using non pulsed settings and the usual 1 amp per thousand of an inch guideline. For pulse, I think I had to add 10% to that figure and adjust up trial and error until I got a proper puddle going. It did work well for the times I played around with it though.

Thanks! I have since purchased the HTP pro pulse and have to say this machine is quite possibly the best I have for welding aluminum, I have 2 Miller welders and a Everlast tig plus the 253 dpi but there was a nothing like this HTP the arc is so precise

@@MrChickenking44 the HTP pro pulse is by far superior very easy setup with settings you can even set inductance up to 200% giving you quite a range on the weld puddle from stiff to a extremely buttery flow with the welds and there is a slide switch to adjust voltage available for it so you can back off on the heat to avoid melting the end weld

@Everlast welders, you sell these double pulse mig welders which for the majority of people would purchase to weld aluminium, but damn it’s near impossible to find any good settings for aluminium, also all the videos use do there’s no videos with mig aluminium, or mig aluminium settings ect, everything els but aluminium mig, why is this? Can you send me the perfect settings for the 253dpi 5356 aluminium in single and double pulse?

@@andycarpenter5561 EL warranty covers shipping for the first 3 years, but I recommend using their DIY option. Diagnosis over the phone with some participation by you, then they send you the part(s). Lots of MODULAR components these days. I would predict that you will save time over packaging up an EL or any mfr's machine, sending it in and waiting for its return. I am NOT afraid of DIY, but your mileage may vary.

Everlast doesn't hold a candle to the Htp pro pulse! 🤣

Clamped 200 amp on Everlast and 300 on HTP. Neverlast blows.
