Awesome choice for a novel study! We are working through the first Winnie the Pooh novel, and using that as our novel unit this year 💕 We are far from a middle school level, but I definitely will check out your Magic Treehouse unit 💕💕

Our library stopped doing summer reading and just did year round reading but there’s no incentives. Bummer!

Oh no! That is such a bummer! Do you have a Pizza Hut near you? They still do the Book It! Program to offer reading incentives to kids.

Great haul! We went today and I found lots of great books! I havent moved onto reading aloud much from longer books. My twins have very short attention spans.

That is awesome! When I first started reading longer books to my son, I would give him things to do with his hands at the same time, like a coloring sheet. It helped ease him into it.

He loves it! Journey 1 got a little repetitive at the end. That said it really built up his confidence. We've just started Journey 2 and he loves it even more because it incorporates more reading time with me. I highly recommend giving it a shot, especially since it's free! 🙂

So you did it everyday? Was it 1 lesson a day?

I broke this down so that each day we did one or two activities a day (depending on length). Each lesson has a chapter to read with the kiddos and usually a couple additional activities to do and suggested books to read.

Yes, our community center offers lessons starting at three years old, so right now my daughter is too little. My son takes them in the evenings though!

Congrats on your website! My boys will be in 2nd and Kinder this year. Schedule wise, we do Lang Arts first while we're fresh, small break, then Math. Longer break, then we do Science Sunday-Tuesday and History Wed-Friday. Spanish, Art etc is sprinkled in throughout the week. We read our chapter book and picture books at night because they are super attentive at that time. Not sure if any of that helps.

@TheYorkHouseLearning-wz6rp We have Homeschool Languages, but we haven't used it much. What we have consistently used in the past couple of months is Duolingo. It's short, easy to do every day, and doesn't take a lot out of me. I'm going to really try to incorporate Homeschool Languages this coming year, though.

I have the same printer! If you run the printer head cleaning in the settings, (once sometimes twice in a row,) it'll get rid of those lines that run through the pages and it only takes a few minutes :) Awesome video, yet again 😀

Been there, with 3rd pregnancy, too. At some point I had to take pain meds. But we went to a Chiropractor for my son and he did a complementary fix on me🤗🥰. My spine was so out that it seemed like my legs were feet apart from each other. Hope you feel better.

@@TheYorkHouseLearning-wz6rp he also told me to pick up a tennis shoe and turn the sole up, place the toe part of it towards my legs and lay down on it, sitting my bottom on the toe part. It is a tad uncomfortable at first but it helps decompress the back. Blessing your way. You have a beautiful family.

I was shocked when comparing two different math curriculums. One counts up to 1000 by the end of the year while the other is up to 120. Both are for the first grade. Crazy!
