Great presentation. It is not clear to me if most of our citizens are even aware of this problem. The political shenanigan to prohibit by law holding the police accountable to the public is very dangerous--it is the public that pays them. This unwarranted protection for them can only serve to encourage the police to abuse at will the citizens instead of protecting them to their fullest capabilities. Police come from the general population and are not heaven sent....they have their faults and prejudices like everyone else--the amendment to LEOBOR circumvents any and all problems that makes them unsuitable for the job. You would think police investigating police originated from some 3rd world dictator. They are equipped with a lot of power, many times, the power to decide on the spot if someone lives or dies which is the most compelling reason there should be no mandated cover-up of their job performance if we are to maintain some form of democracy with decency and common sense.
