I needed to be reminded of this today. I've let my mind rule too much lately 😕

She's a great interviewer or prompter of expert guest. I come for your perspective/opinion/words not the interviewer's. She lets you speak and be the genius in the convo rather than spilling out her points and badly summarizing yours. She did really well.

I was down at my krav maga class we were sparring and doing take downs so I went up against this black guy and as I'm throwing straight and cross punches and he tells my instructor I'm going to do something else he hooked my legs took me down and as soon as he grabbed me he was on the floor gasping for air and I was on my feet for more and a pro boxer was watching me told the other student I am quiet a character and I'm unique and it put the biggest smile on my face .

That doesn't make sense unless it's being used as an excuse. Maybe he's talking about compromise. Most things are a compromise between time, resources and outcome.

OK so you say perfection is unattainable. I say that it is a commendable goal. There are jobs that require acute attention to detail otherwise lives are at stake!
@mxs41935 күн бұрын
Is this taken out of context or something? How does this apply to most cases of perfectionism? When I build a wooden jewelry box for myself I want it to be as detailed and perfect as I can possibly make it not because I’d be a failure otherwise but because I find it really beautiful to look at.
@TheRealPeterSage5 күн бұрын
Doing it out of passion for creating something beautiful is great. Obsessing about it not being good enough or fear getting it wrong and then associate yourself as a failure as a result can be the problem. Hope that helps.
@BobbyBiz5 күн бұрын
I agree completely. There’s a huge difference between someone ‘screwing up’ and ‘perfectionism’ and you talking about joinery is the perfect example. Cutting a drawer the wrong size is screwing up but ensuring you end up with perfectly symmetrical gaps around the drawers and precise inlays is what makes high end furniture. Perfectionism by definition achieves this 🤷♂️

Quite often, dentists get asked the question of why there was such a high suicide rate in the profession. The expectation of perfection and 100% treatment success by dental practitioners on themselves. Anything less was a personal flaw . This was the zeitgeist of the 1950s to 1970s in this health care field.
@bearg-ma91685 күн бұрын
Wrong. Perfectionism is obsessing over the project in every detail to the point of no further improvement can be made under the conditions that the project started. People who have this affliction, often don't start new projects because they are still working up the old ones so they mislabeled as procrastinators. Perfectionists have trouble stopping and going on to the next project.

This is incredible advice. Getting over fear of failure is the best decision you can make in achieving anything. It might hurt to fail, but it hurts a lot more to do nothing in a non-pursuit.

I love that you use the word "Faith"! Indeed, in the times when I have found myself perplexed at the circumstances, it is faith and faith alone that has helped me bridge the gap between what I see and what I believe is possible. I find myself leaning on this Bible verse ... Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.". Thank you for articulating it so well Peter!! 🙏🏼✨♥️. PS: I (Elida) am actively looking for a way to make it to Masters of Destiny Cruise, where I believe a lot of these nuggets (and bolders) of wisdom will magnificently crystallize and where I will hopefully get to Thank You in person! 😊🙏🏼🕯️

Massive Distinction so Brilliant. I get it intellectually however I feel we can not force the path to higher levels of ‘ Consciousness ‘ - I have been wired as an achiever for decades and since few years i am indeed feeling the shift to ‘ Surrender ‘ -( by the way the ‘ forcing outcomes does not work as an entrepreneur it leads to exhaustion and frustration ) - I sooo look forward to reach that full state of ‘Surrender Flow i know that must be so much fun the True Life power immersion ! 💕

Very catchy documentary I haven’t watched it all at once but first sight got me watching for 20 minutes straight I had to cut it off because it was bed time. Had a little gap in the morning routine and now I’m back on still strong on it. Waking up 3-4 am meditation for 20-40 min, sometimes using genius tracks sometimes not, followed by 1h reading and afterwards 1h or so gym. Still lost but setting myself for win, went quiet far from where I was and where I am now, thanks. Blessings Pete!
