I would have liked to hear the Flo & Eddie era mothers perform this live.

This is a Zappa masterpiece almost always overlooked and under rated. And the original vinyl is WAYYYYYYYYYY better than the later digital remix remaster.

At 0.21 seconds into this track there is this 'stomping sound' is this deliberate? Is this a Zappa musical joke? The same stomping is more in the flow when "love of my life' is playing. In Cheap Thirlls its as if the stomp is from a warped record.

Frank could write very beautiful music amidst all the strange experimentalism. A sax solo like Gerry Mulligan would deliver! The Mothers at their vocal best, only taking the piss a tiny little bit 😊
@MrMusicbyMartin6 ай бұрын
Frank used repeated phrases in a really interesting a funny way in his pop songs - he does the same thing in The Air, where the repeated lines (“I’m freezing, and I’m wheezing and I know, that you were only teasing”) seem to be repeated once more than necessary.

I have loved this song since 1969! The sax solo may be short but it conveys along with sweetness a bit of melancholy and sadness.

This version is slightly different from spotify one, especially the last part of the track is wind brass instrument on this version. I'd prefer this one. Where could I listen to this version except this video?

Was looking for this forever and finally found it. If Spotify has the album The Hot Rats Sessions, this version is titled "Son of Mr. Green Genes (1987 Remix)"
