I'd like to clear up the issue people are having with the lavatory wall and a space that can be reached through. All boats experience dampness inside and outside. The dampness can cause damage to any wood so anything that would otherwise be sealed up is intentionally vented in some form. Because venting allows for air movement and sometimes air exchange helping to eliminate damage such as mold, mildew, odors, ruined wood finishes, and the absolute worst, wood rot. Whenever one is on a wood boat the venting can usually be seen, particularly venting for drawers, cabinets, and closets. Often craftsmen stylized venting will be cut into the top or bottoms of doors from small cabinet doors to large closet doors. Some of us may recall kitchens where vents were cut into the cabinet area in front of the kitchen sink, above the doors. The area beneath the kitchen sink being the dampest area in the room. An example in the video here turns up at 3:14 where the cabinet behind the dinette seat has a vent cut into the door in the shape of what appears to be an Anchor. And at 3:21 the drawer in the dinette bench has a vent cut into the pull handle. Again at 3:34 is a quick view of the Anchor vent cut into the closet door. Then from 3:34 - 3:42 our host is positioned in the V-Berth and behind his head is (usually) the Anchor Locker. Boats in this size category will generally use a rope anchor, and because rope can hold moisture Chris-Craft installed two rather large V-shaped vents in the upper part of the panel above the anchor access door. I find it amusing that they chose V-shaped vents in the V-Berth area. Interestingly, they have three vents for the area beneath the sink at 4:47 an anchor vent in each door and a louver vent just above the door on the right. I'm pretty sure that, that louver vent is also venting the cabinet and drawer seen on the right side of the galley. Enough said. However, there was some additional venting that I hadn't mentioned. I figured anyone interested would seek out those vents on their own.
