The rising pose body doesn't need to stand up, it's chi in the body brings up the both hands. 🙏

What's the point of another mediocre performance of Professor Cheng's form? The teaching video with Professor Cheng is on KZbin, and so is Ben Lo's video of Professor's form.

@@lauralucier6270 This is a poor example of Professor Cheng's form, which makes it completely unsuitable for beginners.

I can tell you've been condensing your chi in your spinal column and that your chi extends well beyond the confines of your body. That's true spiritual power.

May be you can feel your upper back, the area between the two shoulders, could be more relaxed, not holding up, then everything is going to drop to your waist, upper body will be totally empty.

Thanks better form than most ' cloud hands the waist should turn more not just the front of the body so that the chi is flushing the kidneys preventing wet heat ' step up to 7 stars the leading foot should gently land on 45 not straight and riding tiger the high hand should be lower and the left hand touching the solar plexus before spin ' also play guitar the foot should be up not flat do the calve is exercised correctly and ward off the back foot should not go beyond 45 or balance is lost but better than most

Wooooo!! "Better than most", wow, ladies and gentlemen, we have an expert here! "So the chi is flushing the kidney preventing wet heat"... Wow, bring on the esoteric! What does that even mean? "step up to 7 stars the leading foot should gently land on 45 not straight"... His left foot clearly has certain level of turn-out. Ok, maybe not 45 degrees, but so what? You are going to use protractor to measure his turnout? As long as he is stable and the joints are coordinated for an effective movement, why does it have to be 45 degrees? Maybe you can enlighten the world with your "textbook" correct form? You know what? It doesn't even have to be the entire form, just those parts that you so kindly critiqued. Afterall, you wouldn't want to be seen as a pedantic keyboard warrior. So do humanity a favor, enlighten and dazzle us with your magnificent skills. We eagerly await.

Just another form! But why doesn't one keep things simple? The central point is cultivation of chi and here there isn´t none! It's the quality not the quantity!

Jose Martins, I agree that cultivation of chi is the point, not learning many forms. That's why I don't do a lot of forms. What we call the "Taiwan Form" was what was taught to my teacher and founder of our school when she was living in Taiwan in the early 70's and studying with Taoist Master Liu Pei Ch’ung (a significant presence in the Taiwan t'ai chi community and an associate of Cheng Man Ch'ing's). She learned this form at his suggestion. If my presentation lacks chi or quality, the fault is my own and not my teacher's. I'll keep practicing! :-) Thanks for the always timely reminder to focus on what is important!

@@taichicenterofmadison7759 My comment was in the spirit of fellowship ad yes I know the background of that form. What I meant to say is that, as the forms are just tools for self cultivation, we don´t need to acomulate them but to liberate ourselves from them and go behind them.

Can I just ask a question if I may: How does one measures Chi within a form by just watching a video? Is Chi transmitted somehow through the screen as you watch the performance? Chi is felt by the performer, or not, by the way he or she performs. You'll feel your chi when practising correctly, you don't feel or observe someone else's chi, unless you have acquired extra special ''supernatural'' skills. You might feel someones chi when pushing hands and you're in contact with someone. If I'm wrong please do correct me. With respect.
