It’s terrifying to think the only reason I haven’t had a lobotomy is because I was born after it was banned

you need to fact check your videos. Orgins of mellifying reach egyptians. Yes chinese people did it and they have papers on how its done but research are fairly sure that it comes from egypt. Next was Grece because they have the earliest records known. Do proper research please.

Looks like I'll need to brush up on my ancient history! Thanks for keeping me on my toes. Didn't talk about origins in this video, was just mentioning the method. Don't get too stuck on these little details. Assyrians, Greeks, Egyptians and Chinese they all used mellifying. Mentioning either of them would have been correct in this very context.

@@ANIMATEDLIFELINES I get it but still it is best to mention the earliest cases as to give a propper point of view for how far this tradition was reaching. It is a bit similar to saying few hundred years forward "katanas were forged in america". Yes they would be but it is not where it began. Historians put a lot of pressure on keeping the subjects in the places of orgin due to many misconceptions being thrown around. Like with a dish called "Pierogi". Due to many countries saying "oh its ours" no one know where they really originated from. So most people just assume they are polish.

trepanation is still used today but it's usually done by surgeons in an operating room. From the little I understand I'm pretty sure it's still used for swelling of the brain. 🙂

and when we are at it: the negligent differences in the genom between people from different parts of the world arnt even a good excuse to use a term like "race". dogs have more variety between a german shepard dog and a golden retriever as people from scandinavia and africa. why?, look up "human bottleneck" and THATS the reason we are so riddled with genetic diseases, this damn vulcan eruption really screwed us over. so, put the definition of "race" in the dump, its outdated. btw. the FIRST indo-europaen who settled in the region today known as iran called themself "aryan" wich means "great, magnificent"

We had a DARE cop that would come to school once a week in like 3rd or 4th grade. We'd all shuffle into one classroom and he'd talk for a little bit. But this cop was absolutely jacked, like Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Rock had a baby, he'd always be wearing a tight tshirt and at the end he'd flex and it would rip the sleeves and say "If you do drugs you'll never be strong like this" or something along those lines 😂.
