I have always drawn and painted, like you, I come from watercolor, and something that I find interesting is that each Gouache Artist has their own style and way of painting. If you live in a tropical country, and have humidity, hot and dry weather...what can you do in this situation? Because I'm starting out with gouche, I have winsor and newton gouche, I have the same pallet of you, and probably a minute passes and my paints dry very quickly. Its very frustrated! And I need a fan, because of the heat. What can I do. I'm working right now with Strathmore mix media black paper😬 I think I like challenges.😅

Before beginning a painting, do you mix all your colors first?

I’m 16 minutes in and I’m needing information. I see you showing your process and thoughts for painting which I find helpful for sure. But, having used casein a bit with “Gurney’s set” of mostly earth colors, I’m really wishing I could see your palette and the angle of view you have. I’ll keep watching to the end but I wanted to share my feelings and frustration. Some viewers might leave before completing the full video. Part of the reference is off camera. Okay, I’ll shut up and keep watching yo hopefully get more info. I know you referenced an earlier video but it’s hard to go there if this one is losing you.

Wow! This piece looked great at almost every part of the video. You could’ve stopped and it still would’ve been a beautiful painting…as good as any oil painting! Love it! Mostly in one color, but have started to use gouache in the backgrounds and in the details a bit. You have made me more interested in pursuing gouache, or at least in a mixed media painting for now. I also love still life and can hardly find any being done in Watercolour don’t know why… Thanks so much for sharing.

Impressive painting! Were you using Turner Acrylic Gouache?

You’re an awesome teacher and artist. Your style reminds me of the old masters . I like Davinci Gouache (USA) . It’s comes in 37 ml tubes. At the end you put some white in the orange well. Would you wipe that all out later?

Please write a book. There is really is not a good book on gouache painting. I use acrylic gouache more than regular gouache because I tend to use gouache for color studies for oil painting and for plein air.
