I think if a event or class dance bachata fusion & its tango or zouk any dance influence its should know because as lead if dance one style & dancing with a woman. It can be confusing & you can have awkward dance.

I was curious do you have a code of conduct or a etiquette list?

That's a great side thought, about musicality and how certain instrument create the bachata dance, but I beg to differ about that. I think the name is wrong in the sense of what it's called and maybe a new name is required to accept. Because I can move like a bachata dance bc of the 8 count. Anyway... it's a partner dance.

Men go crazy over these dance acts, but Gatica makes a statement: women have their own personality and should never be used as sex objects again. There are enough people on this planet, too many in fact. Men should finally take that into account.

Actually, I think Eleonora is mistaken about dancers knowing both roles in the US. Mostly, there are very few dancers who dance both roles socially, and these are usually the top-level dancers of their communities, often teachers. I suspect that because Eleonora may often be dancing socially with these top dancers, her viewpoint is biased. I do know that there are places in the US where they teach beginners both roles from day one, but so far this is very far from the standard.

Wonderful interview, recently discovered Gatica and was blown away by her personality on the dance floor, such a wonderful social dancer with great communication! The more you watch the more subtle things you come to the surface, the small hand movements, the shifts in tactics based on the partner, etc. Such a delight. Thanks for such an in-depth interview sharing her love and philosophy about dance.

great talk !! I´d been Mambo-dancer since Dirty Dancing and then continued with Lambada and Salsa So I think I understand your questions verry well. Now I am dancing Tango since 2003 and I can tell you - you can have all you have all of the Salsa fun in Tango too but almost none of the Tango joy in Salsa !!! And I agree to Eleonora in total concerning the aspect or freedom - and yes, it is like painting music while beeing in a deep sensitive embrace !
