When the British first came to our lands, they said we were a race who is at least 500,000 years old (British Pathe films). When I was in school in the 1980's we used to wear t-shirts saying, "250,000 years of survival". Then the next lot of t-shirts said, "200,000 years of survival". Progressively over the years, scientists, anthropologists and historians who are not independent, are easily persuaded by money and other material things of this realm. That's the problem... When a family, group or nation forgets their origin, it is easier for other groups to come in and fill in the blanks, and in doing so, takes away their cultural identity.

While acknowledging the history of Aboriginal peoples in Australia is important, the overuse of Acknowledgement of Country risks singling out one group based solely on their arrival thousands of years ago. Every person’s ancestors, regardless of when or how they arrived, have contributed to the shared history of this land. It’s remarkable that any of us are here at all, and no group should receive perpetual special status simply because of the timing of their settlement. All our stories and contributions matter.

Pygmy Indigenous Australians did and do exist. I should know, I've seen them and photos of their ancestors. If you actually knew anything about our history you'd know it too. So.. you're either lying or full of it. I'd believe the fabrication of aboriginal history before you.

@@akasug4136 the assertion of a genetically distinct lineage of Pygmies is a complete and total myth. No evidence supports it. All the evidence shows it’s a myth. Were/are there short Aboriginal people? Yes. Are they genetically distinct? No.

I studied Anthropology in Dunedin in late 1970s and was told the Aborigines had arrived there 45,000 years ago but i had my own feelings they had been there a far longer time ago. This appears to be correct, I am not surprised. Keep up this good work as it is truly worth the effort, Les

Maybe we are looking at the possibility that Modern Humans weren't the first. IMO there is a possibility that our suspected ancestors Homo Erectus may of been the first. Afterall we have found remains of HE in Java and more importantly remains of HE on the Philippine island of Luzon. An island not land locked for millions of years which may indicate use of boats. We haven't found any MH or HE remains at the dates of 80k BC but evidence of some form of habitation in Australia. Also no evidence doesn't mean it didn't happen it just means there is no evidence. Food for thought anyway 😊

Archaeological digs are still supposition at best. No one thought civilisation had no grounds for that claim beyond Ancient Egypt and Sumerian cities. Now with Gobeki Tepi in Turkey that's all blown that theory.

It appears that someone went to great lengths to insure the occupants of the sarcophagus would be forgotten. They were not mummified, there was a paucity of grave goods leaving no cartouches as to their identity and no heirogliphics in or on the sarcophagus.

Also where is the DNA evidence of the tribe with pygmy morphotypes that dispels the idea that they were pygmies? If the research hasn't been done, why make absolutist claims without evidence?

@@Johhny_B If there was a species of pygmies living in Australia, there would be exchange of DNA in the way that we find all over the world. Studies of Aboriginal DNA have specifically showed that this is not the case.

Gimpie pyramid is not real. It's a hill. DNA evidence proves Aboriginal people arrived here at least 65,000 years ago, and 800 years ago from India is also unsupported by the dates for artefacts/sites/mungo man and women etc.
