Since spring and neap curve are diffrent when will you use on over the other?
@getlostboating
@getlostboating 3 ай бұрын
It’s not as precise as some would like. On springs or a day or two either side use the spring curve. Likewise for neaps. If you’re in between spring and neap go in between the curves. Remember to check the almanac for guidance on specific ports

What if a vessel proceeding in TSS in restricted visibility and a fishing vessel or sailing vessel crossing from starboard side? Do we need to follow rule 19 or rule 10 only?
@getlostboating
@getlostboating 3 ай бұрын
In restricted visibility section 1 rules apply and section 2 rules do not apply. 👍

your videos are amazing noel, very thorough yet easy to understand. I turned here taking an online USCG course when I was unable to understand the Sea School's videos (dated, long winded, many off the cuff or irrelevant comments). THANK YOU for giving me the material I need-- at no additional cost!

Thank you for the teaching. May I ask whether we do need to calculate Low Water Tide time 11:21 and 23:50 separately if Low Water Hight is not the same , 1.8 meter at 11:21 and 23:50, at Standard Port of Portsmouth from the Almanac.

At what distance shall they alter the course?
@getlostboating
@getlostboating Жыл бұрын
No set distance. The master of a vessel should alter course if they are the give way vessel as soon as they realise there is a risk of collision. They need to take into account any other navigational hazards when doing so
@igesbpro
@igesbpro Жыл бұрын
@@getlostboatingExcuse me sir I understand now that the moment the 2vessels encounter each other and in rosk of collision they are to go to their rights in order for chaos not to happen but I also thought that when 2 vessels encounter each other they shalt give some sound signals.
