The final section "d" did not match the pattern at all. You didn't count some 1s and did count some 0s. It seems as though what we were hearing wasn't matching what we were seeing. Perhaps a test to see if we are paying attention.

5:24 can I change the "24 (mod 17)" with 36 or any other number that is a multiple of 12?? Since 36 also can be divided with 12

Not enough rigor for my taste. Specifically, “and so on” or “, …” is not an acceptable way to define a set; “, …” has no mathematical definition that I know of, so has no place in rigorous proofs.

This is really interesting although I had to rerun the proof of Cantor's Theorem a few times. Two things I took from this. 1. Why naive set theory is called naive set theory. 2. I look after a database of crashes. We used to have 26 categories of object struck by a vehicle. When a new system was developed someone thought that we should have subcategories of these categories. After two years we decided that we didn't have enough subcategories. We tried to rationalise the categories and subcategories but this has proven too difficult. I realised that this is a job for category theory. This video shows why category theory is tough.

Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge... for FREE! However, one of my statistics teachers, used to say to me to use t-test for a small sample size i.e., of less than 30 with unknown standard deviation of a population with a normal distribution property. That explanation still holds?

We should be open minded in that case. we can consider "Anecdotal Evidence" as a "case study"; which could be an antecedent for farther research. Hence, a positive view of that case is so important. instead of describing it as "bad".

I’m a mechanical engineer. Of course we took the appropriate statistics and probability class but never saw the real significance until my 5th year of being an engineer and working at GE healthcare. Now I apply the DMAIC approach as much as needed.

You are damn right, buddy! I had such a similar experience, and I believe to many out there! I found that the DMAIC thing of LSS is so interesting. So, you are practising it within the healthcare industry? Wow, that is great!. Maybe we can catch up for more experience sharing...😊

Z test for proportions T test for means Chi Squared Goodness of Fit for 1 sample with 1 variable to test if it is different for the population (ie test if the distribution of race is different in 1975 population to the 1980 sample) Chi Squared Independence for 1 sample with 2 variables to test if they are independent (ie test if chess and IQ scores are associated) Chi Squared Homogeneity for 2 samples with 1 variables to see if they have the same distribution (ie to test if men and women have the same distribution of living arrangements) T test for slope

the empty set is a subset because a subset can be created by removing elements from a set. So if you remove element by element from a set, creating subset of subsets. then finally you have the empty set which is subset to its set before removing the last element

everyone in the comments are saying that some tests are 'better' to use than others ( t test is better than z test) but i have always thought that each hypothesis test only had 1 test/method that you could use. do some exam questions have multiple tests that can be done on them to get the same result and if so what tests can be used instead of others. thanks

Hi there. I have just found your content, and what I like about it the most is that you focus on a single topic or two as a way to compare and contrast. I am an undergrad and in class, we have to listen to tutors talk and explain a bunch of different topics for two hours or longer. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
