Yup just terrible. Cared about each student. Met them where they needed to be met to engage them and save them from the reality of the world that wanted them to fail. Should have done what most do now and ignore the problem and socially promote them to the next grade.

Calculus is a trip. I didn’t go past senior (the units I did in first year uni were so basic), but it’s incredible what you can do with calculus.

@@copycat21c Here’s an example of what can be done at just a little bit higher level. Instead of taking the derivative of a function and setting it to zero (which finds the maximums and minimums of the function), dy/dx = 0, one can consider varying the function with the so called delta or variational operator delta = ybar - y where ybar is y but a little bit deformed, keeping the same endpoints tho, so we constrain it. This idea is what is known as the variational calculus. And is used in Feynman’s sum over histories approach to give us an even more precise story about light and electrons than we had with Maxwell. Feynman’s story being called quantum electrodynamics. Physics with Elliot has a video on it if you’d like to see more called How Feynman did Quantum Mechanics.
