Hi do can you help me? I have same amp but I can not figure out how to get audio from of 1 of the 3 optical inputs. The optical out does glow red which makes me thing the DAC works. Cable and source is fine.

Awesome find! I have a Sound Design 8 track player too but with horizontal slide controls “1975ish model”. Picked it up at a record store a month ago on a shelf collecting dust for $50. It had scratchy volume and sound controls with dead lights. I dusted it off and restored it. Sounds like crap with stock speakers but like a champ with 3 ways and even better with an external amp. People hate on this brand and other radio shack type brands but forget most couldn’t afford high end stuff back then let alone now on eBay. Most were smart and bought cheap amps like this and either replaced the speakers with something much better or hooked it up to an eternal amp. These were great starter amps or just plain down affordable! I still have the original speakers to my 8 track player just for nostalgic reasons but have to replace the drivers due to age. I’m keeping the original boxes though for the original look. I’m making a of my setup soon. Before somebody craps on me buying sound design, just know I’m not spending $100+ on a used 8 track player for marginally better sound given I use an external amp most of the time anyhow. I’ve heard “higher end” brand and I’m not impressed.
