How did you use the spray cans for painting the building?
@DougiesWargamingBlogShow
@DougiesWargamingBlogShow 14 күн бұрын
Hi Dave, I use the Colour Forge Spray Cans. The building was sprayed all over with Ossified Earth then gently sprayed high light areas with Wight Bone. The easiest way to do this is from above and at a downward angle if that makes sense.

Interesting about the units not included and certainly scope for ANZACs, NVA, often rules get retro untis like the French time period as well. What are the vehicle rules like for River patroll boats and could the game manage a firebase being stormed scenario like the end of Platoon?
@DougiesWargamingBlogShow
@DougiesWargamingBlogShow Ай бұрын
The vehicle rules cover the expected M113s, M48, Ontos, as yet nothing for Brown Water Navy stuff however I suspect this is in the pipeline. In relation to your Platoon FSB assault you’d have to remember the rules are squad level maybe a platoon at most so you’d be looking at a section of an assault

As someone from a country (IRL) who doesn't have a lot of (ANY!) close mates into the hobby, it's great fun to 'tune in' to these videos and kind of 'hitch-hike' along with the various projects described and shown... Quite apart from the product information/reviews, it's great to see the finished pieces and get tips on painting and terrain building etc. In the absence of a 'club' or 'group' of like-minded enthusiasts, it's the next best thing. Dougie and Alex both have a lovely 'chatting' presentation manner, like listening to a mate talk. Biochous Diobh! (Means 'Grateful to you both' in Irish Gaelic!) xx SF

Hi Dougie, re-discovered your channel a few days ago, and am very interested in your Vietnam Hue 68 project. In the comment on one of your previous videos about the project you mentioned that you would likely be using the Fireteam Modern rules. I have since then bought the rules and watched your videos about the rules, and I like them very much. Have you thought about force lists for the Vietnam War forces?
@DougiesWargamingBlogShow
@DougiesWargamingBlogShow Ай бұрын
Hi mate, glad you like the rules they work well and can be adapted as needed. In relation to orbats from experience the reality on operations is often very different to what the organisation on paper states. I tend to look at the paper orbats and build round that. On paper USMC squads are 13 strong, 3 4 man teams and an NCO in charge. In reality in Hue as an example this was rapidly altered due to a number of factors if they were ever at full strength. I don’t get too fixated on organisation 😉
