It will be published - ‘I think’. Brilliant wink wink line. I love how this movie begins and ends with Elsa in a lightning storm.

Could the liar say "no, I'm not a tree frog, I'm a spotted lynx" and screw with Kaspar's question, or must they essentially only give yes or no answers?

Classic dark comedy from the 80s. This makes Dumb and Dumber look like Blue Velvet from David Lynch and Fargo

...here are some of the best films about this incident: 1. 'Gothic' - Kenn Russell 1985 (with Gabriel Byrne as Byron / “mad, bad, and dangerous to know”) 2. 'Haunted Summer' - Ivan Passer 1987 (with Julian Sands as Shelley, fantastic!). 3. 'Rowing with the Wind' - Gonzalo Suárez 1988 (not a good choice in terms of actors, Hugh Grant as Byron??)... but the topic keeps fueling my mind... especially since I was personally present at the events of these places... 4. 'Mary Shelley' 2017 - Haifaa Al Mansour / (great fresh actors). cheers, Gregxxx........🦇

I've only just realised that the guy asking the question was the jailer at the start of 'Stroszek'. Both characters sort of serve the same purpose in their interactions with Bruno's respective characters.

I'm glad that they put Mary Shelley and her husband Percy at the beginning of this movie :D

I watched this in a theater on Wilshire in LA when it first came out. I was so frightened by Ray, there's just something so menacing in him. The memory lasts til now.

Ohhh... You are sooo smart! Simply took away every dinner, eating & drinking scene, put it together with some of the story in the particular film, or took the scenes that took place before, or the consequences that'll follow, and draw out those "smart" conclusions, in order to "explain" the true and "in-depth" meaning behind each and every food scene in Tarantino films.... Hahahaha! Just how convenient that is, eh?!?

Percy Shelly died in 1822, Byron in 1824 and Mary Shelly in 1851. There is a scene with a grave from 1899.

I am just watching this for the first time in honor of Ray’s passing. What a gem so far. Melanie is wild and a young Jeff was pretty hot. Waiting for Ray to appear. I can’t believe at my big age, I have never seen this 80s movie.

Mary Shelley: wrote Frankenstein in 1818, around the time this scene takes place. The movies Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein: clearly set in the mid to late 1800s. What could she tell the future, too?
