Never use cheap product for your shoes. Always go for genuine product. Now you can clean it with soap and water once with carefully. Not regularly only once you can go for cleaning with soap and water.

I got the same shoe thoda sa ganda pani lag gaya barish mein and the leather seems to have absorbed it. I thought that the dirt will fall off after drying but it seems to have been absorbed I tried wiping it with a clean cloth but now there is a dirty patch and the velvety texture is also gone.
