I had a premature failure using those Mevotech sway bar links.I actually heard banging on the highway,pulled over and found the bar fully separated from the link.The ball pulled right out. Maybe 28,000 miles. Never again,I use oem for most parts now. Had a tie rod fail early too

Hello I just came across your page and love that Oldsmobile ...I have a Cutlass ceria myself the red dot 3.8 and been having fuel delivery problems and can't seem to figure it out yet my mechanic is saying it's the fuel pump is weak but it's a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass ceria I live in Oakridge Oregon but want to take it to a few car shows this summer my husband and i , are from Wisconsin and moved to Oakridge Oregon 7 months ago and love the area thank you for your video

There is a list of issues that could effect your fuel system, including the pump, but there are other bits to explore. I have serviced oak ridge by special appointment before. If you look up Jenkins Performance on Craigslist in Eugene, you can find me. Or my Twitter feed. I'm happy to walk you through a few things. Yours is a "pre 3800" if I'm correct, so a little more simple

I was glad to hear you will eventually send the VIC/radio to Jon to get it repaired. He repaired both of my VIC's and he had a good service and I recommend him. You keep working on that Toronado right. You have made a lot of progress. Thank you for sharing your Toronado and Oregon.

My first thought was this guy has no idea what he’s talking about. But I laughed because this was all too familiar. The cold, sleet, rain, parts lying around. Keeping extra nuts, removing clinton era cv axels, and the sticker residue!! I installed heavy duty coil springs & kyb struts, new control arms, sway bar links, and ball joint. My ‘98 Camry is standing like a proud bulldog. Im just gonna buy a rock auto knuckle wheel hub assembly to avoid pressing the bearings in. This was a great video.

Did you make those hub caps? Or did you make them? Did you notice any gain in MPG from putting them on? If so I might do the same and get them.
@willjenkins28425 ай бұрын
Lee's hubcaps for United Pacific, and I think it was around $90 for the set of four. Real chrome steel. You will need to get metal valve stem caps to protect the fill ports. They can make and try to rotate on rim a little. This type was all the rage 90 years. You just have to be prepared to put some tape around the outside of them to make them really grip on the rim. Yes it did improve the fuel economy. It may shorten brake pad life. Also see "Hollywood flipper" hubcaps, or "moons" which will look like a brushed flatter disc

Nice review! I got a 2024 Mirage ES hatchback, and I use it a lot as a cargo van/truck. For me it does everything I need. I have filled the hatchback from the floor to the roof with stuff, all while having the seats folded. Sure, not the safest when doing that. But it sure can do it. I got 8,884 miles on it at the time of writing this, and I got it in late September, 2023. Very good so far! Yes, I drive a lot. About 80 miles per day. Averaging 49.3 MPG over the past 8,884 miles. On the freeway I get about 55 MPG. It's awesome.

Looking forward to the rears. I think we need to do them on the rear of the 97. It's not making noise but feels link there is no compression resistance and sitting lower than this one int the rear.
@willjenkins28427 ай бұрын
if it feels like springs only, then yeah,they are done. the rear quickk struts are about $40 each on rock auto, FCS brand. I have had good luck with them. You want to do the sway bark links also. Carefully inspect the trailing arm and lateral link bushings. you have to drop the whole subframe to do the lateral links. Its doable. I have a video on it. The problem child is the rear knuckle, and the long bolt that passes through it and both lateral links. Divorcing its nut, and freeing it from the knuckle can be damn near impossible if the corrosion has got to it. Thankfully, all that is designed so that it WILL NOT fall apart no matter how much play it gets =).
@mrbwa17 ай бұрын
@@willjenkins2842 Thanks. I'll take a look at it. Everything feels tight, but the rear sits a bit low and it it floaty (but the rebound fees fine after a big bounce.
@willjenkins28427 ай бұрын
@@mrbwa1 they busted. They die really slowly, so it becomes hard to quantify the change. Any strut assembly over 60k will start to get smooshy. As the dampening fails, the springs do extra work and wear out. Don't be surprised if it looks like you put a lift kit on it afterwards 😉

Just replaced the headlight lenses on my parents' old Honda Pilot. Hazy lenses don't really bother me until they affect visibility of the highway at night, and these were getting to that point. The car looked pretty clean to begin with, looks nearly new with clear headlights. Let's just hope the aftermarket lenses last as good as stock.

Nice Prius content, trying to give mine a good start with oil changes every 5000 rather than the recommended 10,000 miles. I figure it's on the interstate all the time, probably running the engine more than the average Prius. Plan to trade it off pretty soon, make somebody a good deal on a high milage, nearly new fuel mizer.

Not related to this video, but I just wanted to make sure people are aware of Lemon Laws, or maybe remind people of their existence. My boss has a late model Silverado that hasn't had functional A/C for more than a week at a time, since he bought it new. The other day he comes in and asks us, "Have you guys heard of Lemon Laws? I never knew anything about that." I didn't realize it was possible to not be aware of Lemon Laws, or I probably would have brought it to his attention a while back. So now I'll mention it here, with the current level of quality coming from the manufacturers, it may be more relevant than ever.
