Hello, my Right hand side mirror is unable to be tilted up/down and can only be tilted left/right while the Left hand side mirror is totally fine, what do you think would be the reason?

I backed my x5 into the garage this morning and bam same exact issue. Looks like a pretty straightforward fix. Jokes aside I think the part is slightly different since mine is 2023, but thanks to this video I have a better understanding of the mirror assembly, got the part today from BMW and i'll have a go at it with a friend of mine this weekend hoping for the best, cheers.

Question, my x5 same model, does not have 2 batteries, just one, does that sound right to you? It doesnt have that other extra second plug for second battery [USA X5 xdrive35i]

BMW trying to discourage owners from performing their own car maintenance so you have to take it in to a dealership to have it done there at a premium. My wife’s Volvo XC90 was so simple I completed that task in about 30 minutes by just removing the engine cover and coil packs.

I need to do the exact same thing, drivers side. Mine has camera/lane departure warning too, I think it looks like yours. Can you tell me the part number you bought?

Ordered the part from AliExpress for $23 and replaced as you showed. The only thing is mine does not have that first connector you unplugged after removing the back cover, and the connector after removing the mirror. Only the two small wires were attached. Other than that it was quite straightforward. Thanks again.

Thank you for this video! This is the exact thing that happened to my 2019 X5. The dealer wanted $2600 to fix it. The motor and everything works, it’s just cracked. I will be buying the parts at OEM and find someone to fix it. Great info!

This was really helpful! My same part was broken backing out in the cold weather and its just cracked off with little resistance! Only advice to others is I didn't need to take the back side off. Just the mirror and then take off the screws and replace. I ordered mine from Turner Motor sports for $50 shipped in 2 days. BMW always makes sure a simple procedure like spark plug replacement is a very complicated ones on their engines. I'm gonna replace my X5's spark plugs soon too!

Boss just FYI NEVER use anti-seize on a BMW engine. The spark plugs are already nickel plated (anti-seize) from the manufacture and do not require anti-seize. The main reason is when anti-seize is used it creates a multiplying effect when you torque in the new spark plugs. This can lead to deteriorating treads and cylinder head damage over time. Most spark plug manufacturers advise against using anti-seize on spark plugs. BMW engine repairs are not cheap. But other than that great video!
