Most people are too stupid to understand this movie, one of my all time favorites. It's an intellectual and spiritual, philosophical, existential piece. But the blanket theory was more than mental. They meant we are all made of the same atomic particles not just humans but plants rocks buildings etc. this is not mere philosophy it is also quantum physics and quantum mechanics as well as spiritual. On a deeper level which they keep hidden it is clearly related to Krishna Consciousness where we understand that we are all spirit souls part and parcel of Sri Krishna. So also the material elements are a different part of Krishna. We are His servants and also a minute part of His internal energy and the material elements are His external energy. Hare Krishna 🙏

I super appreciate this video but dont think that this was intentionally confusing. I understood it all the way through . I know most will not know what the H3ll I am talking about and that is ok.... I think this is a somewhat sophomoric explanation . Study Non- Dualism or Direct Path and the movie will make sense. They are apparently different people but they share the same consciousness... And he awakens at the end not because they are both sad but because he realizes that they are One.. Notice the back of Hoffman's jacket in his office... He is one with the chalk board which is a-metaphor for the universe. Wahlberg and Campbell recognize each other because they share the same consciousness. The "other" is the same thing.... When the two photos merge at the end on the polaroid it is not because they are both sad...it is in fact because they share one Awareness or consciousness...

1:00 it is about contemporary Christianity & Judaism to give a direction to the sciences mutualism in humanities law, justice & love coming together which is extremely important because habermas used to be a socialist but then he said with reforms religious people tend to be the only ones who do not lie who conform to ethical standards correct themselves but also advance freedom like LGBT rights and just making sure people do not get hurt including in divorce or in responsibly pursuing outside relationships in order to even apply or advance science as work religion has a longer history with the sciences than Hollywood hard core porn or the darknet criminal economy does & Hollywood hard core porn pop stars and criminal darknet stars are lethal compared to contemporary scientific post feminist post acclerationist christians and jews when it comes to applying the sciences & humanities

Great explanation of *Bernard’s* approach to investigating Albert’s existential crisis. But his associate, Vivian, approaches Albert’s case from a different angle, focusing on the real and the tangible, explained below. Later in the movie, their associate, Caterine Vauban, presents yet a third, reconciling perspective: that everything is ultimately meaningless. The Blanket Truth, while true, is not the whole truth. It’s also true that Albert has real-world struggles that stem from unresolved issues from childhood. And it’s also true that none of this matters. By weaving truths these together, one can reach a higher state of awareness and zen. -- Vivian investigates each of Albert’s three sightings of the tall African guy and discovers: 1. Huckabee’s Parking Lot. Albert is trying to save the world through the Open Spaces and is having a major conflict at work after Albert let the fox (Brad) into the henhouse. 2. Record Store. Vivian discovers that Albert has been planting photos of himself and his poetry here, showing he is desperately seeking attention. (He lied to the detectives when he told them he was looking at Bob Dylan vinyls). She also discovers that Albert is fascinated by Brad’s girlfriend and Huckabee’s spokesmodel, Dawn, who resembles Jessica Lange, Albert’s celebrity crush. This shows how Albert is jealous of Brad and only has fantasy relationships because anything else would be too painful. 3. Parent’s Apartment Building. Albert lied again when he said the tall African guy was the doorman at his friends’ building. This shows that Albert avoids talking about his parents because of some past trauma. Earlier, Vivian notices that Albert reacts oddly at the mention of a cat at the dinner table with the African guy’s host family. Caterine finds Albert’s diary and discovers his entry about his cat. His mother had ignored his grief in favor of social niceties because she never treated Albert as more than an ornament to herself. The tall African guy was an orphan of a civil war, Albert was an orphan of difference.

So many praiseworthy elements. How about the films tonal changes (seriousness & humor). In the scene with Albert, his mom and the African Guy Dr Vauban concludes by telling them “ You are an orphan of war and you are an orphan of indifference”. Heavy stuff. Then in scene where the Doctor seduces Albert, he ridiculously shoves her face into a mud puddle, which is absurd and hilarious. This movie deals with serious topics while not taking itself too seriously. Genius!

@SamClarkCinema
@SamClarkCinema 3 жыл бұрын
This isnt really an accurate analysis of the blanket theory. The blanket theory is far more rooted in the fact that we are all made up with atoms and energy as is the universe so therefor we are the same, we just perceive ourselves as different entities i.e the ego which is an illusion of the mind, this movie is about egodeath

This confirms my conclusion that the movie basically reveals the idea when we see the composition of the two men's faces as they both suffer, and the main character realizes that he was so focused on making the guy he hates suffer, he couldn't see that the guy was just as confused and vulnerable as he was (just in a different way.) People are so caught up in their drama they forget that other people may appear coarse, but they are coming out of the same, confusing dark tunnel that has been colored with confusing and misleading experiences, and that we should have empathy, because if you don't get it and things seem maddeningly intractable, then it is selfish and self-centered to not see that it surely must be that way for other people. So when someone's coarse, insecure behavior makes you feel angry, they are acting out in their own unique way to the same problem you have. I see this when I see old people grumble about the behavior of young people, hence they become apathetic, hence they perpetuate the same behavior anyways. Both are struggling with the same thing. Sartre says hell is other people; what he really meant was that we create each other's hells by allowing those external to us make us suffer with their expectations by creating insecurities in us, and then we project that onto someone else, without seeing that we are doing the exact same thing we are frustrated about with other people. Hence, as the movie says, we are endlessly creating our own drama. But it is not just OTHER PEOPLE creating drama for YOU, it is you creating it for other people. In this life, we are all in this sort of "jail cell" together, and we can be each other's torturers or each other's sympathizers.

The movie goes deeper illustrating existentialism represented by a couple that share a meaningful love and opposed to the nehilistic single woman where relationships are meaningless...there is a very graphic metaphorical sex scene between albert and Katerina in there too suggesting something.

Actually in quantum mechanics there is something called the quantum field theory. In this theory we learn what everything is really made of, fields. There is an electron field, a photon field a quark field and a field for every fundamental particle. All quantum particles are just a significant enough of a charge on these fields. Such as an electron is an exitations on the electron field. Everything in this univers is one through these fields. But, there is an intermediary that separates us. It is how the electrons, quarks, photons, muons and other field excitations interact such as to create and maintain the particles and matter in this universe which includes atoms. If it were not for these excitations on the field and there interaction. It would be easy to see we are all one, because we would directly arising from the fields.

Pretty good explanation of the blanket theory for the common man. However, existentialism is a bit more complicated than that. I love the movie because they are trying to figure out life and they just get confused, all of them. In turn, the viewer gets confused. I guess I'm special in that I never got confused because I saw it as more of a parody of people going through an existential crisis.

Doc Savage it’s like in the movie where he says in the beginning, “you don’t want to miss out on the bigger picture”. It’s like Dustin Hoffman is trying to tell the viewers.
