4:24 is nuts, driving under the new rt17, just drove this for the 1st time today. Can’t wait to come back without the family when it’s not raining to enjoy a more spirited run through.

You should redo this direction of 890. It got a pave job a couple years ago and its AMAZING to travel on now. No more of that idiotic bumping every 10 feet

I remember when it was built. It goes from nowhere to no place and may exist just because Syracuse has 690. Utica had to have one.

Hi, does this rt start around Hancock New York? And also is there signage that actually says "Old Rte 17"?

Coming off this exit when I travel to Syracuse every 2 months or so - first half of 81 north is piece of cake but second is “WTF”. The traffic level will suddenly increase big time and the roads will be hilly and have some real tight turns!

I remember going to my first Bill's game 20 years ago getting off 190 North onto South Odgen Street to meet up with some people in West Seneca, and I remember there was a mom and pop shop right off the Ramp called Dickies Doughnuts. I thought that was funny. I haven't been to the Buffalo area in 15 years. Last I knew Dickies Doughnuts was no longer there. What's in its place now, I wonder?

I've always thought that it was kind of interesting how 790 runs right along the thru way & it's kind of weird that it curves off like that Around 1:56

My Dad was born in Ticonderoga and was raised there until he was 5 when he moved to Crown Point, then when he was around 11 or 12, moved to Ballston Spa in the Capital Region. When my grandparents were alive, and when my grandmother became widowed, I would visit Dad's family usually during the summers and Christmases. Dad would drive around these roads and point out where he lived during his childhood and some of the sights. My grandmother sold her home and in 1980, she, one of my aunts (Dad's younger sister), and her son (my cousin) moved to Delaware to be near our family. She lived there until her death in 1987; she was buried next to my grandfather in a cemetery near Ticonderoga. The last time I visited this area was in 2006. My Dad, who is now 81 widowed (my Mom died in 2017), and not in the best of health, wants to visit again before he dies, especially his younger brother, who still lives in the area and is the only sibling left, with my aunts both passing in 2018 and my oldest uncle, who lived in VT, in 2015. Always loved these NY and Canada videos because of those memories.
