You can use nitric acid, direct Agua regia or AR method . There are many different ways to extract gold.

Real question - after you incinerate could you put the material in a crucible with some flux and smelt it? I understand the chemical part for purity I am just so tired filtering and fumes.

Okay, question. First, i recover and refine gold very well, and have done likely over 50ozt in last decade. I use Nictri in AR, and rarely PoorMans AR with Sodium Nitrate. That said, im a safe worker, but never cared about silver recovery. Im thinking that once its dissolved in Nitric, a copper push bar will cement it out. But then what 🤷‍♂️? A few hot washes and ready to melt? Or is there another process required before melt?

I had several pounds of pins.thoigjt that it would take to much to dissolve pins so used aqua regina to get the gold.after short time I dumped the solution off to use on other stuff but my question is right off the start I noticed a brownish gray substance dropping out falling to bottom. What is this stuff

If your solution was not filtered properly that gray substance exist. Rinse with hcl after filter.

Hi man, you melt AgCl directly? I have heard using sodium carbonate, but not seen going direcly with flame, chlorine gas is not exactly, what you want. Is it because of small amout?

Hi man, nice recovery, just asking, if going AR directly with so much unburned carbon does not contribute to loss of gold. 1,22 from 586 is OK-ish, I was expecting about 1,8, but depends mostly on chip quality... I do fingers and pins at the moment, cleaning gold with cupelation. Looking for some efficient chip gold recovery.
