Maybe this is a shorter form of "örülök, hogy találkoztunk." It is probably not used too often by younger generations nowadays.

Örvendek is a bit of formal and even more old-fashioned. You would hear it from an old gentleman or from a young hipster who likes old fashioned things. Otherwise not....

Szent István, soha sem lett szenté avatva a tisztességes neve, melyet apja adott neki, Vajk. Nagyon megosztó személy. Gondolj itt arra, hogy az ősi Magyar törvénykezést leváltotta a Róma irányítására. Eltüntetve a Táltosokat, Vajíkosokat, Sámánokat és a rovásírást. S mai napig nyögjük ennek terhét, még ha voltak is jó dolgok néha. Szóval nem mindenki tiszteli annyira, s örül Róma hatalmának.
