It's been three years since I got diagnosed with ptsd for something that my brain imagined. I think I'm either insane or schizophrenic because I felt myself live a nine month experience where I had to MASSIVE amount of pressure and control over a nine month long situation where I had to kill and defend people like a community leader in a modern day civil war in a third world country. I was actually trapped in said country for nine months due to covid and my real life was financially and physically ruined by the time I was finally able to make it back. I have conflicting memories of being a leader of people who was in over his head and had to commit atrocities to keep the community and my family safe and also a sad nine months of trying to figure out how to feed and provide for my family while not being able to find work due to a language barrier, fending off by spending my life's savings. Both of these memories feel real and even now I have legitimate and diagnosed sign of war related PTSD. I'm too terrified to ask my now ex-wife (she divorced me the week I got back to the states) or my family to know which memories are real or fake. I've always had extremely lucid dreams and daydreams, but as I grew older they just feel like different entire lives I'm forced to live only to find the struggles and efforts I went through to be meaningless because they might not be real. I lost my daughter when my ex-wife divorced me and I tried my best (which I guess didn't amount to much) and it wasn't enough for her so she too my daughter with her. Now I'm too scared to even text or speak to anyone I knew even my daughter, and tomorrow's her birthday and my heart is being wrenched by a Want of telling her I love here and a fear of me not wanting to hurt her in any way with my struggles. I'm too scared and in too much pain.
