Nice to see you out in the beautiful Scottish wilderness again Eddie, hope you're well and good, yes mate once we get over that 60 marker we definitely need to keep up with fitness to do long walks across undulating terrain. I agree with you that getting to the 20 mile mark or making that summit climb in a time limit is a bit of a joke, it's the walk and soaking up the views and good air that matters, being out and enjoying it, not pushing oneself till your knackered and hurting, where's the joy in that. All the best to you.

Nowt wrong on that walk Eddie. One or two challenging areas on the way up but once on the plateau the whole landscape opened up to reveal a fairly remote spot. Loved it! I agree there's not always an end game - I mean just to be in the moment is good enough and with an old mate from abroad even better. You're on the nursery trails again - you'll get your legs back. I've had a long injury and that's been a bugger but almost ready to get back on them river trails again. Well, good going. All the best. Mark

Wonderful to see you out Eddie! Beautiful walk and the waterfalls were impressive. We've had a warm autumn and after a dry summer we are finally getting some rain. The geese are heading south and the white-tail bucks are in rut now, seen a nice eight-pointer yesterday and fed him some potatoes and apples right off the patio. I've been taking short walks at 2am as I have to move until the meds kick in and I hear the coyotes howling often. I walked down to the river twice this year and take hour long walks daily, at 71 and with this arthritis that has settled in to my back that is about the best I can do, it is still nice to be out in Nature. Take care, Ossie

Hats off to the three of you Eddie you are a tough as they come! I did -70f windchills once as a lineman, the coldest I have ever been out in, the hydraulics on the bucket truck would not work so I had to climb poles to put the wires back up that has snapped in the cold, happy memories those 1980 winters! Some stunning views in that blue sky! Wonderful to see the three of you out! Take care, Ossie
