Came here again today after listening to the 'call us now with your thoughts!' section on LBC just after 6am, basically repeating this sketch for 5-10 mins to pad out time until enough folk call in 😂 M&W are geniuses!

What is depressing is that this video becomes more relevant every year. When Rishi Sunak claims that extracting more oil and gas is actually good for the environment and Rees-Mogg claims climate change (previous denier) is actually a good thing - it is not about facts or truth, informed opinion but simply putting nonsense in people's heads so they can at least have some opinion.

What possible reason could there be for me not to comment on this sketch? I reckon it’s a bang on classic! It remains one of my favourite skits no matter how many times I watch it……which is usually when I’ve seen enough inane news reports after some Royal event……Coronation of CR III anybody?

god that brings back memories of who the hell e-mails these guys and they really did ask the questions and such like that in the 90's. and for most people e-mails were newish still in 1997 recall windows was 95. even bill gates wiped his emails lied in court and they brought it up and proved he lied and he said holy shit even i can't delate it. didn't use messaging till 3 years ago almost and cov. was why i had to.

Absolute genius, especially with regard to all that gammon reckoning. I reckon that Nigel Farage was not best pleased by this sketch, which really, really makes me love it even more.
@geoffreypiltz2712 жыл бұрын
Do you realise that one of the dumb texts they received was "Patricia from Southampton wonders what Wordsworth would say, and thinks she knows". Amost your own comment, except you substituted Nigel Farage. Were you being very clever or very ... ?

Your middle-class midwittery renders you completely oblivious to how fucking stupid you are. Fucking halfwit.

@@geoffreypiltz271 Wait, so you've put the fascist toad on par with Wordsworth?! Amazing.
@haeuptlingaberja49272 жыл бұрын
@@stumbling Okay, so bear with me here. "Mid-wittery"? I am not British, so I'm guessing that this term is some sort of insult that you clever chappies have devised which combines your deep distrust of intellectuals with your rather odd concept of what it means to be middle class. You see, in countries not run by a ruthless, hereditary ruling class of malodorous perverts, "middle class" simply means those who are not quite starving but are by no means wealthy, arrogant and pompous. Here in the States, this class only emerged in the postwar period when we had actual fookin' unions, before Reagan, Mad Thatcher's idiot twin, set about making serfs of us again. Quite ordinary carpenters and pipe-fitters were considered middle class here until recently, people who could own the house they lived in but had no delusions of grandeur. Since owning a house is purely the province of the very wealthy in your hide- and tradition-bound oligarchy, all of this will appear quite foreign to you (and we all know how Nigel and his admirers feel about foreigners--bloody wogs!), but I'm telling you, mate, "middle class" does not carry the same connotations elsewhere as it does in a country where the common man knows his place and doesn't mind doffing his cap to his betters.

This is modern journalism "here's how people are reacting to the news on Twitter." It used to be parody.
@VestinVestin2 жыл бұрын
Oh, please, enough with your unbridled optimism! It's quite the opposite: "people (...) on Twitter" is the news, and the "reacting" is in the article.
