I'm sure the Mock Turtle would been played by Touché Turtle while the Lion and the Unicorn would've been played by Lippy the Lion and Quick Draw McGraw. Tweedledum and Tweedledee would've been voiced by Paul Winchell, the Walrus by Lloyd Bridges, and the Carpenter by Henry Gibson.

Eeekkkkkk!!!! I just found this on my KZbin suggestions. This was my favorite record when I was little. I can still remember sitting on the orange shag carpet of my bedroom and playing it on my record player❤❤❤

Sterling Holloway is a master storyteller. He elevates everything he reads to another level. ‘Loved this 55 years ago, and still do. I have the LP (and two of his Just So Stories records, too), but listening online is so convenient. Thanks for posting.

In the late 70s - a preteen me acquired the S.S./Blabbermouse James Bomb and Monster Shindig LPs from a dusty shelf at the local thrift store; I think I doled out a negligible fifty cents for both. Although I had no recollection of the Hanna Barbara cartoon (it ran from 1959 - 1961) - at first listen I was immediately enamored with the creative effort and overflowing talent that went into these peak-quality recordings. Flash forward a few decades - time has in no way dampened my fond appreciation for this treasure. Thanks for posting.

There is actually a real traditional Irish jaunting car song. Well, maybe *more* than one. (And for those who are wondering, "Well, isn't *this* one?" No, actually, this is Disney's one. Walt Disney apparently claimed Irish descent though [I Captured the King of the Leprechauns which was the one about the making of Darby O'Gill and the Little People].)

HB really cut corners on these records. One guy doing every voice on the album. The only production costs would have been the front cover art and Dawes Butler's salary.
