This feels wrong. I have a 08 TL base so idk, I use Honda dw1
@BayViewzКүн бұрын
Why does it feel wrong? Do you bring your car to the dealership for oil change or do you use Mobil 1 or other brands for example? If Acura TL's from 2004 to 2008 never had transmission issues then I would definitely stick to Honda ATF.
@charlieluciano2420 сағат бұрын
@@BayViewz I do everything myself but the only little issue I do have is your typical jerky transmission shifts a little bit but it’s way smoother when the car is fully fully warmed up & also probably because my transmission mounts are worn out too which I bet it is cause I replaced all my motor mounts and it’s weird but the transmission shifts better when I did that so imagine if I replaced the transmission mounts itself ya know. But it’s just a little sketchy about the transmission oil thing because most people say if you put any type of different transmission fluid brand other than Honda DW1 on your Hondas, the transmissions are trashed and I had that experience with a O2 Accord V6 that I had & a 04 accord v6 so ever since I got my 08 TL base auto I stuck with DW1 when I first serviced my transmission when I bought the car
@charlieluciano2420 сағат бұрын
But old Hondas transmissions are always a tad bit jerky but it’s whatever eh . my TL has 180,000 miles original transmission and everything but it works totally fine , super strong. just a little bit jerky just a tad bit . I gotta change the transmission mounts tho
@BayViewz15 сағат бұрын
@charlieluciano24 Yes Honda/Acura transmissions are jerky but it doesn't mean it should be. Once I used Amsoil ATF that jerkiness was gone and the lag shifting through gears was gone. The transmission became butterly smoother and stronger. I confidently drove from California to Pennsylvania with no issues. Would I've done that using Honda ATF? NOPE! You have to try it for yourself.
@BayViewz14 сағат бұрын
What other ATF brands did you use? Amsoil is a proven brand whether it's AFT or motor oil. I was sketchy at first because I'm an OEM brand type of guy and only use Honda ATF. Once I've converted to Amsoil AFT I never looked back lol.

It depends I own an 07 Type S 6-speed for about 7 years but I mainly use it for City driving and it gets like 12 mpg Granny driving. Highway driving. That's a different story. It gets about 25 to 26 mpg. The J series V6 is more of a highway driving engine if you're looking at it, fuel economy wise
The best way to do this is have 2 clean pans man.. put the old fluid in one pan, put new fluid in transmission, if it drives bad clunky sluggish or slippy. Drain new fluid back out and put the old fluid back in… you’ll be back to square one sure but it’ll work just fine.

What I found on my daughter's 05' TL was that the siphon hose below the Reservoir's Cap had fallen inside the Reservoir, not able to draw previously expelled Coolant from the Reservoir. Radiator would get manually topped off occasionally causing the the Reservoir to become overfilled and to "Spill-Over" around the Plastic Cap. Randy. AKA randog311

I would check your transmission fluid first to see if it's pinkish and not low in fluid. If it has to be change do a 3×3 drain and refill. Change out the 3rd and 4th pressure switches. That alone should eliminate the blinking d light on your dash. If the problem still exist then you might need a rebuild or take it to another shop for a second opinion. I looked up your codes and there's many other switches that's not working correctly.

I had to replace both fenders and my front bumper. But i got the unpainted parts since i ended up repainting my whole car (except the roof which i got wrapped in carbon fiber material) but i used 3 quarts of primer 5 quarts of base (white diamond) and 4 quarts of clear to fully repaint my 06 acura TL. The front bumper, aftermarket grill, 2x fenders, and my trunk lid were all black so that used up a decent amount of primer. The rest of the car was already white. But i also painted the engine bay. It took about 2 days doing it all by myself. Would of taken longer but the Florida heat helped a lot with drying. Your vehicle is super smooth though. Even though the bumper is a shade off it still looks great.

@BayViewz3 ай бұрын
I would get it scanned first for any codes. Check the transmission fluid to make sure it's pinkish and if brownish i would switch from Honda atf to Amsoil atf doing a 3×3 drain and refill and not a flush. I highly recommend Amsoil atf over Honda atf. Change out the transmission filter. Replace the 3rd and 4th pressure switches. Clean out your transmission solenoid because if the filter screens are clogged your transmission will hesitate or lags to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. Also do a ECU reset. I'll leave the links to all of my videos for all those I mentioned above. And as for the dash lights being on I would check all of your fuses from inside of the car to under the hood. I need some advice. I followed this flow on my 2003 G35 Sedan 6MT (all stock/original) with 90K miles, replacing my rear rotors, pads, slide pins and brake hoses. I finished up with a 2-person brake bleeding at all four wheels, being careful to keep the brake flued reservoir filled with DOT3 Nissan brake fluid as we were going along. I had my wife doing the brake pedal pumping -- I think she might have gotten a bit aggressive with the amount of force on the pedal. While bleeding the second wheel, she said "braking seems to be getting easier" and we continued on to bleed the four calipers. After bleeding was done and I topped off the brake fluid reservoir, I started the car and depressed the brake pedal to seat the new pads. I noticed there was very little brake resistance and the pedal went to the floor! Uggh. What do you think may have gone wrong? Might my wife's aggressive braking during bleed operation have blown the master cylinder?! Or brake booster??
@BayViewz3 ай бұрын
Sounds like there's air in the brake lines. I would re-bleed all brake lines again. Then afterwards pump the brakes a few times until it gets hard before driving.

I never heard of 1×2. But yes! You do a 3×3 to drain out almost all of the old fluid. Now I said almost all because you can't completely drain it out from the torque converter. So each time you do a drain and refill, drive for like 10 to 15 mins and then drain and refill. Do this 3 times and then change out the transmission filter afterwards. You're thank me later lol!
